  1. Before reading what you had hidden, I was at a 9.0. Still am after reading what you had written. At very worse, 8.5. I am thinking a press could potentially push into 9.2 range.
  2. Too much staining for an outright 2.0 IMO. So I will also venture 1.5-1.8.
  3. I am at 2.5 just because of the amount of pencil. Does cleaning remove such a thing though? Or would one have to lightly try to erase it. I know I did this on an ASM issue I had that had someones math homework on the back cover.
  4. This was my dilemma! I figured 8.0-8.5 if that corner was there and not ripped. Personally I docked a full two grades for the fact that’s it’s there but taped. I bought advertised as VG.
  5. Interesting and creepy... To my knowledge, not the only example of "predicting" this terrible event before it happened. X Files had a spin off show entitled The Lone Gunmen, and I believe it was the first episode or so that depicted a plane attack on the twin towers.
  6. Also, if anyone here other than gadzukes obviously can identify this comic based on back cover alone and the tiniest of colour visible from the front cover, I would be very VERY impressed. Plus I know that by posing this I am likely to drive some people crazy which is always a good thing.
  7. Picked this up few years ago now, just as the show was gaining hype before airing. It was cheap and looks great until you see the back corner. Somehow it got torn off but someone taped it nicely back in place. Thoughts on grade with tape? Without? Should I remove?
  8. Upon further review I am closer to a 7.5. Looked again and blew up the photos and could really notice that center crease. I will second the suggestion to press though for sure!
  9. Spine ticks and mystery stains top edge of back cover. I will wager 5.0-5.5
  10. Do you mean which portrayal/representation of Spider-Man is the best outside of the movies? Or do you mean ignoring the movie itself and whether it was terrible or not, which actor has portrayed Spider-Man/PP the best? If its the former, the 90's cartoon series and whichever actor voiced Peter/Spidey. If its the latter, I will say Tobey and Tom are tied. I liked Tobey because he is the first Spider-Man and that still resonates with me. He was awkward enough that I believed him. I like Tom because he is young and also the perfect amount of awkward and funny. I am sure he will win out eventually but nostalgia has Tobey in the conversation.
  11. I think he meant to say his Marvel Image Collection....specifically, his Marvel/Image Co11ection, as they are all first issues. If the OP is asking a question in picture form, here are some possible answers a) Yes b) No c) About $6 10 years ago d) Maybe $20-30 now e) Marvel f) Image g) He has a hard time with hands and feet h) He liked drawing characters crouching in weird positions
  12. I will second feelings of a potential 9.2-9.4 here for the reasons mentioned.
  13. To me, if someone cut nice square corners off of a book for some reason versus a rat chewing each corner, I would rather the former. So perhaps that is why they deem it restoration. However, if someone tore it off or cut it off, that seems the same to me as the purpose was likely to make the book seem better. I have a Batman #251 that had its top right corner (about this same size) folded back and forth so many times that by the time I owned the book, the corner just fell off, leaving a nice clean line. I guess technically you could determine a clean cut edge from a natural separation but that has me worried that if I ever were to grade my copy, they would give it a restored grade.
  14. I thought trimming was along the entire edge, be it top, bottom or reading edge of a comic to make it seem properly cut and to potentially remove any edge imperfections??? Cutting a whole corner off with scissors cleanly is considered restoration also? Versus ripping it off which is not? This seems silly To me, both should grade the same. Missing a corner. And both should not be considered restoration. Nothing was "restored". When you trim an entire edge, you remove possible imperfections and try to make the book appear better, "restoring" it visually, so I understand why that is considered restoration. This corner clipping I do not understand why CGC considers it such.
  15. Me either. Wear near staples. Back top edge too. An indent above limited. I'm leaning closer to 8.0
  16. I am closer to 8.5-9.0 personally. Even with the scrape and the bottom edge looking like it has some wear. To me, it appears to overhang a bit on the bottom which is likely why it has the wear it does. I don't think that should be docked too hard though. Gorgeous copy.
  17. The question is, do you want to shenanigan now or shenanigan later? Either one is groovy with me, baybey!
  18. ^ Thats fine, I am interested in any reprints of classic stories but generally the earlier the better. The first 6 Hulk issues surely have an earlier reprint than 1991...if not, that makes me sad!
  19. Generally, I do not collect reprint titles like Marvel Tales or Marvel's Greatest Superheros, etc. I like to try to track down the original published version of a story in its original title, if possible. Granted, that is not always financially possibly so I have made some exceptions. I also like it when comics are reprinted in a unique or different format (like treasury sized comics, pocket books or even those record combo packs which I believe reprinted certain issues). I am interested in seeing some of your favourite reprints of classic stories or first issues. I am also interesting in spreading and sharing knowledge on locating some of these "earliest reprinted stories". For example, what is the first reprinted version of Action Comics #1? Detective Comics #27? Amazing Fantasy 15? Hulk #1? These are a few on my personal radar to track down an early reprinted (and full) story copy.
  20. When in doubt, shag nannies! (That's an anagram for shenanigans....I call it shenanigrams!)
  21. In terms of valuable last issues of a series, would Iron Fist #15 be because its a final issue or because it is an early-ish new X-Men team crossover drawn by Byrne? Also, not an expensive book really. Decent copies can be had for $20-30 Some last issues of a series command money because the print run was low. If memory serves me, the last issue from Marvels Conan run can be hard to find and sometimes expensive. But I think you would be hard pressed to find a final issue valued more than $50. Perhaps in very high grade...
  22. I'll give credit to Walking Dead where its due. The show never did anything for me. The comics were good but I got bored around issue 115 or so and never continued on. I just felt like I was never going to get answers, and I just had to accept the fact of a zombie world. I like getting an explanation and hey, maybe it did happen and I missed it. I also wanted to see the zombies gain or develop some sort of intelligence. I also wanted to see someone get bitten but fight the effects and sort of live as a limbo zombie. I also wanted a cure which, I guess was accomplished in a way in the last issue (again, have not read it but have heard enough people talk about how it ends). Oh and I also was interested to know the scope of the infection. Just the US? All of NA? The world? If a lot of what I have said has you screaming "these were all answered" or "these happened you fool!" then I guess I need to continue reading.
  23. True... I guess it goes off what I am expecting to spend to just have a decent copy. I'd like to get a VG range ASM 50 for around $200-300, A GD/VG ASM 13 for $400-500 and a Fine or so copy of ASM 129 for $600-700. So it is a combo of what I am willing to spend on each and what I have available to spend. Of course, I wish I had $1000 to plop down on each but I do not. If I can acquire all three for $1200-1500 in this condition range that is the goal.
