  1. The hilarious thing is I went back through my old topics to see if any of the other books I sent I put through the PGM forums (I did but like several years ago so I figure updating them would be weird). I found that I actually had asked about this issue twice and here, majority selected 8.5 (myself included) but on my original post a year prior, I had 3 replies only and all 3 thought 9.0 They must work for CGC now....
  2. Haha all I know is that I pulled some great grades...will likely post everything in the "what's back from CGC" section later
  3. Much like those here, I was in the 8.0-8.5 range. Book was pressed. CGC 9.0. Pics to come!
  4. I’ll start with these two, the highest graded of the bunch and honestly the two I predicted to grade the highest. I had them safely at a 9.4. Very happy with the 9.6 on both.
  5. That's what I mean, it is not simply going to be Loki as a female is it? Maybe I need to re-watch but was it clearly a woman at the end there? To me the figure was heavily hooded but perhaps I missed flowing hair or something.
  6. My first ever submission arrives back today...like in a matter of hours I will be opening and hopefully sharing here yipppeeeeeeeee
  7. So I started when I was 12 or so back in the early 2000s and NO ONE in my friends group collected. It was kind of just my thing. In university, I also met NO ONE with my passion. But it continued to be my thing. Keep in mind that during this time, I was not active on sites like this Now, as an adult, I have met a few people locally who collect. Two brothers with huge collections but I don't see them often (especially not over the last year). I do have one friend I have made who collects Joe stuff and the occasional comic. He is well versed enough to talk with which is great but outside of him, youse guys here are my outlet for comic chatter.
  8. I'm there...I only have 656 followers so I don't really get the traction I might like to get which is fine, because Facebook has worked well so far.
  9. I wonder where Jane Stankis is now.... Her taste in comics definitely did not stank
  10. Def got hammered for that back staining, whatever it is.
  11. I will also go 6.0-6.5 due to staining. A 7.0 or better would surprise me...maybe if the cleaning sharpens up the back and minimizes the stain appearance....
  12. I never suggest 9.8 because I feel I cannot grade that unless book is in hand. Production tears on the first pic for sure...not sure if CGC allows or not. They are supposed to on some things but something they don't On the second, def get pressed. I will say 9.4 on both minimum with no surprise if either came back 9.6 or better.
  13. Since the pandemic, I have started using Facebook to auction off books and list books, usually on various Canadian related comic buying/selling/trading groups. I have found stuff sells fast and love it. No fees, no hassle and 99% of the people in the groups I am in are trusted buyers and sellers. If I want to move filler issues and the like, this is my go to. If I have a more valuable book, I have banked up a handful of Canadian buyers who I reach out to. In addition, I use the boards here, especially if it is something more unique. I used to do the occasional sale on Instagram, but since I wasn't someone always selling on there, it was hard to get people interested in buying (I don't have a ton of followers or at least not the thousands that some people have which means their stuff sells quick) I only use Ebay to buy now and I rarely even use it for that...
  14. Solid first episode. Owen Wilson’s character was much more intriguing than I thought he would be which is good. The DB Cooper bit was cute. The villain can’t really be as straight forward as Mobius said…right?
  15. Thanks! and yes I will be handling minimally and carefully when I do!
  16. @SilverSurferSeller Here is the actual issue of SS #3 from 1968...note the differences
  17. As said, its a reprint and not in mint condition. The actual Silver Surfer 3, I would desire in a heartbeat. If you offered the above book to me for $10, I would pass versus if you offered me an actual Silver Surfer 3 for $10, I would not be able to get my wallet out fast enough (and would likely pay you more because I have somewhat of a conscience). What you have is a cool reprint of a valuable book and your book is maybe in 6.0-7.0 range for condition.
  18. 7.5 And the story kind of checks out based on the stamp. From what I know, they sometimes would give comics to artists, writers, staffers, etc and were stamped as such so they could not sell them for profit. Maybe John (who to my knowledge had nothing to do with this series at the time) admired it and wanted a copy.
  19. Cost is definitely something I am weighing to in my thoughts of slabbing some more of my PC....CGC really has made it unappealing, especially for us Canadian folks. Some will argue that it is only a matter of time before CBCS also raises prices (as they are also seeing more volume than ever) but until that happens it makes sense that some people will choose the cheaper option.
  20. Annnnnnd it’s info like this that I LOVE most. Never stop learning in this hobby…truly the best!
  21. Good point. I always find I am harsh with creases in my own grading. It probably could get a 6.0 if there was just the one but multiple small faint ones likely bump it back slightly.
  22. So if you are wanting to have a CGC sig series books signed by someone else, send them the book in the slab. If you crack it, even if you send the label with it, there is not guarantee that that book and label go together, from their eyes. Let them crack the slab, they will witness the additional signature being added, and reslab (hopefully with the same grade as before) all for the low low price of insert fee amount here.
