  1. 6.5-7.0 and a great copy to have. If you are gonna have a minor issue on a book, the back is where ya want it!
  2. 5.0 seems right. Too nice for 4.5 and I wonder if the size of the crease keeps it from 5.5. Should keep from a 6.0 so 5.0-5.5 seems the right range here.
  3. Unless someone has an example of a qualified being use in a scenario similar to this, I am gonna go with blue da ba de da ba di.
  4. I don't think people understand the green label... Here is a list of 16 random CGC green label books and the reason they were green labelled 1) Hulk 181 CGC 5.5- qualified due to missing MVS 2) Strange Tales 135 CGC 7.5- qualified due to 2 center wraps being married from another issue to this copy 3)X-Men 1 CGC 5.0- qualified due to the first page wrap being married 4) Harbinger 1 CGC 9.8- qualified due to a coupon cut 5) FF 50 CGC 3.5- qualified due to pieces missing from two interior pages, story not affected 6) Batman 181 CGC 7.0- qualified due to poster page cut out 7) Spawn 4 CGC 9.0- qualified due to interior Image coupon cut 8) Batman 253 CGC 9.6- qualified due to cover being detached from bottom staple 9) Walking Dead 19 CGC 7.5- qualified due to unverified signatures 10) ASM 238 CGC 9.4- qualified due to Tatooz missing 11) ASM 121 CGC 9.4- qualified due to two interior pages missing that do not affect the story 12) FF 36 CGC 6.0- qualified due to page missing, story unaffected 13) She Hulk 1 CGC 8.5- qualified due to cover detached bottom staple 14) ASm 19 CGC 3.5- qualified due to missing non story page 15) Detective Comics 91 CGC 7.0- qualified due to 5 missing pages, story affected 16) ASM 131 CGC 7.5- qualified due to missing MVS I could go on, but the green label seems to appear when -you have an unwitnessed signature on a book -you have a missing stamp/cutout/insert -you have a missing page, whether it affects story or not -you have pages from other copies married to create a complete copy -you have a high grade book that is detached at a staple So to answer the original question, I don't believe that rip makes it green. It will be seen as a defect and given the proper grade as a blue label and, as thought, will likely present very well.
  5. 2.0 at worst, 2.5 at best. If it wasnt detached at top staple maaayyyyyyyyyyybeeeeeeeeeeee it has a shot at a 3.0 but not now.
  6. Yes that appears to be the address! That or there might be a faint “4” in front of 82 if 482nd ave makes very sense but it’s extremely hard to tell....
  7. To me its convenience. When I first got serious into collecting and learning more, I bought one (circa 2009). Helped me recognize keys and kept me abreast of the market reports. I feel like from 2005-2010, ebay buying was a fraction what it was now, and so were the available options online for finding values for things. Now...why would I ever carry around a book when I have apps at my fingertips to track my books and sales of recent books quicker. I need to save time you know. I am sorry Overstreet...while I appreciate what you did for me, I have to evolve.
  8. I would have to disagree The entire lower half of the book is stained on the back (hard to tell about front but doesnt appear to be)' A stain that large, I would have to be in the 3.0-3.5 range.
  9. Will the stamp affect the grade...yes. One would need full photos of the entire book to determine what the grade of the book is first. If it is a VF condition book, well it could very well stay in VF condition. If it is a 9.6 candidate, well I am afraid the stamp would likely bump it down. Refer to grading standards below. I would argue that your date stamp is NOT in an unobtrusive location, thus it would grade lower. VF/NM 9.0 - Several lightly penciled, stamped or inked arrival dates are acceptable. NM- 9.2 - MT 9.9 - Small, inconspicuous, lightly penciled, stamped or inked arrival dates are acceptable as long as they are in an unobtrusive location.
  10. Thanks for that info! Are the covers to those original issues found inside included in the book too?
  11. Hi all, So from what I understand about this comic is that it contains copies of other comics bound together from the same time period. Are certain copies more desired if they contain certain stories? Does the inside front page tell you which issues are inside? I am just curious as I never knew they printed a comic that was 324 pages!
  12. The guy who bought the shards of paper and staple should be interested in this:)
  13. I think that, this past year, CGC had a record level of submissions in the history of its existence. Like the world, they were unprepared for what the pandemic brought them. With this record number of submissions comes a record number of flaws, problems and errors and we see them all as we should, as people share them here and on social media. There is also a liklihood that the quality of the grading on books in the past year has much more variance that before. Graders feeling the pressure to get books graded perhaps grade harsher or more lenient than before. Add to it the company taking on more than they can handle (with in person signings...great idea, poor time to execute) and you have all the makings for problems. Sure they are trying to adjust on the fly but reality is this year will see problems on a level unseen and is probably the worst time to submit books for that reason (says the guy who made his first submission ever and is still waiting but I expected a 6-8 month turnaround when I did so I just hope CGC is patient with my books and does them right). Alas, other companies are starting to get more business and now they too are feeling the strain. Eventually it will even out and to be honest, it is best to wait until that happens before sending in your books. Especially those trying to sub books for a quick flip. Can't tell you how many briefly hot books I have seen people sharing coming back from CGC that are now cold.
  14. I’m fine with leaving money on the table. I’m not greedy. I made something off it, as far as I can see it’s going to a good home and that’s a win win in my books. Next ones gonna cost the rest of ya $450 tho
  15. You wasted your money if you bought the book raw thinking CGC would slab it with their signature series label. Only way you can get that label is if CGC witnesses the signature themselves (be it by a witness at a convention or when you send books in for their signing events that they have on site).
  16. As an ASM fan, I would NOT do this trade. Do I think in the years to come that FF48 has more potential? Yes. Do I think Green Goblin will be used in the MCU? No (I think Osborn will but I think the goblin train will go towards Hobgoblin). So if spec is the reason for the trade, FF48.
  17. You are an old timer who doesn't know who Annihilus is? He debuted back in the late 60's and was around prominently through the 70s as a foe to the FF. I was first introduced to him in FF 140 I believe where he is on the cover...cool looking villain too.
  18. I have no problem with the white strip on the spine. For example, if there was an 8.5 copy of Marvel Spotlight 5, one with white spine and one centered well with black, I honestly would just go for which book is the better deal. There are some who would never go for the white, and would maybe pay more for the well aligned cover but I agree that this is a subset of collectors. Some things do bother me. A miscut where a portion of the cover is really cut off but even then, it has to be pretty bad for me to pass on the book.
