It takes time for CGC to come out with/change label listings.

FWIW, a couple of LCS owners I know that pay attention are suggesting that Death Metal 7 may be the book to have for the Future State 1st appearances. We will see soon.

Your sources were right. Grabbed 4 copies.

  3. Okay my take.... I’m glad I didn’t pay for this movie, not the worse hero film but totally forgettable in the long run. Wonder Woman gaining new abilities was amazing to see. Ending reminded me of Bruce almighty. She should have snapped lords neck and had the justice league fight her in WW3. Her relationship with Stevie was the best part of the film, so much so that I will start collecting golden age Wonder Woman comics, starting with Sensation.

If only there was some way to own a portion of the biggest books in the industry - but let the security and physical custody stay with people who regularly handle many millions of dollars worth of items - while still actively collecting all the smaller books for your personal collection.

If such a thing like that existed, I can guarantee it would be both a brilliant idea and an idea actively criticized by everyone who hates people in their yard.

    If only.

I've casually mentioned this before.  It's not bonkers to the new guard.  It is bonkers to the old guard.

    We are getting old.

There is the possibility that this is not a bubble that is about to burst but a changing of the guard.

Let's look at AF 15 and Hulk 181.

    AF15 7.0

    • 2002 High $7,000
    • 2020 High $110,000

    Hulk 181 9.4

    • 2002 High $2,350
    • 2020 High $10,000 with a $12,000 high in 2019.

Now to us, those prices are insane.  Think of the price you paid for a book that has popped in the last few years.  At the price you paid, that is what it cost.  Could you justify paying "Y" for a book knowing that it really only cost you "X" when you bought it years ago?

To us, those books are very high.  To the new blood, that's what they go for.  "It is what it is"  Lamenting that they should have bought a Hulk 181 in 9.4 for $3,000 is like one of us saying we should have bought a copy for $50 back in the 1980's.  There is nothing they can do about that so a Hulk 181 in 9.4 at $10,000 IS normal for them...  For us, it is outrageous and we can sell it and happily take their money.   For the n00bz, $10,000 for a Hulk 181 9.4 is quite possibly the investment that could have been at one point buying an AF 15 in 9.4 for $10,000.  We see a bubble that might burst.  They see a bubble that has the opportunity to grow.

I could easily be wrong.   But all of this could possibly be new blood getting attracted to the hobby.

Newbie here, yes, exactly that, every overstreet book should come with a time machine because for the new collector, it’s already to late to buy the keys that you desire. Do you have an extra 3-10k put away just for hobbies? No? Good luck. You say your favorite villain is Doom and your hero is Batman? Good luck.  What is frustrating is the fact that yeah, you already figured you probably can’t afford the good stuff yet,  but maybe one day you could . But then you see the raise in prices and in your gut you just KNOW in the next 5 to 10 yrs that key book might just be out of your price range for a lifetime, unless that bubble pops of course. Heck within 20 yrs or so, a lot of golden age heroes will be a 100 yrs old, those books will be museum pieces lol. - Rant over

Some of us did that with both FF and X-Men, buying as much as we could afford. (thumbsu

I agree there is definitely still room to grow for both, and that X-Men has further to grow due to it starting from so low. Right now the area to focus on is the dirt cheap 1st apps from 144 and up, and across all of the X-titles. There are a few long boxes worth of mutants to chase there. lol

Excuse me dear sir, would you mind giving some examples on which 1st apps folks should be looking out for ?

Do they sell for anything, because I have a few beautiful newsstands of that issue?

Couldn’t find any information on newsstands but I’d say hold if it were you and if the label doesn’t already say it, I would send it to CGC with a note that it’s her first cover appearance.  You might get the label, you might not, either way it’s one her keys. Good luck G.

Damn $500 on a raw copy.. just hold onto everything now.. sad that quick flips like that sell for more than long established Bronze Age Batman keys like 232, 251, or 357

I’m not gonna lie, I love this game lol. You really can’t predict what obscure, buried in a $1 box character, will hit the jackpot. In response to your earlier post don’t forget to grab a copy of ms marvel 23, which if I’m not mistaken is the first cover appearance of Red dagger. If you sell that copy along with your ms marvel 12 it might be really nice come up, just a thought.

From $25 for a decent copy to $250 in 2 months!

Folks are paying up to 500 now, for this book and I just don’t understand it lol. Looking ahead after January and February, what is the future of Tim Fox Batman? Nothing. They are not gonna kill Bruce or disable him in present day to make way for Tim Fox. It seems to me at least, that they already have a favorite coming out of this event and that’s Yara Flor. Given a TV show before her first published book shows a lot of confidence. Second to Yara Flor, I can see Red X being hot character after this event, you can immediately establish him in present day. He already has cult following.
