We actually have a great show tonight that continues this theme of getting masterwork art out to collectors on a budget: For episode #24 of Comic Art LIVE we're diving into the topic of how to discover affordable comic artworks from masters in the field, and we'll show examples on each of our moderators sites from the likes of Jack Kirby, Gene Colan, Don Newton, Joe Kubert and several others. Not everyone can afford a top tier page from an Artist's most popular title, so when you really want an example of their work for your collection sometimes you have to make compromises... But that doesn't mean the art is going to be subpar! We encourage you to bring your own examples to share this evening, and if you'd like us to do some research for some Artists you're interested in, please post comments on YouTube or Facebook before tonight's live stream and we'll do our best to prepare some examples for you!

This is a very pessimistic view you take, vodou. I assure you this is no FIRE SALE. Will, Mike, and I have all had record sales years. If anything, it's harder to get quality material at the right price right now than it is to sell it. We are in a very hot market. We thought, given this, that it might be a nice idea to highlight some of the pieces by great artists that are being overlooked, and might satisfy some collectors that want a particular artist and might be willing to sacrifice the men-in-tights thing in order to own a great artwork. We gave a lot of thought to this presentation. If you'd like to tune in maybe you will see something you like that won't break the bank. It's silly just to dismiss it out of hand like this. It's our pleasure and joy to bring this show to you. We are not begging for business. Glen

Spotlight on Wally Wood! His pages on Daredevil and the Avengers go for 10,000 to 50,000. Wood is considered a master of the comic art form. You can own a super-hero page pencilled and inked by him from the same peak period. His THUNDERAGENTS 10 pages from 1966 have the same action and craftsmanship as his Marvel pages. Tonight you can expect our usual musings on the hobby along with our thoughts on last week's Heritage Auctions' Comic & Comic Art Signature Auction results. Spectacular results came in for works by artists such as Jim Lee, Charles Schulz, Todd McFarlane, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Frank Frazetta, Gil Kane, Dave Gibbons, Bernie Wrightson, Robert Crumb, Basil Wolverton, Carl Barks, and many others. When the auction came to an end, the total price realized was as awesome as the assortment presented: $14.2-million, with almost $6 million of that coming from the sale of original comic art and illustrations!

PANEL PAGE ART IS EXCITED TO OFFER A ROMITA SR. CLASSIC KEY! John Romita Sr. and Mike Esposito Daredevil #105 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1973). Ol' Hornhead is surrounded by trouble, courtesy of Madame McEvil (aka Moondragon) and her "Terrible Trio" -- Ramrod, Angar the Screamer, and Dark Messiah. It's a tight spot for our favorite vision-impaired hero. Size is11x17. This is a book that has become a Bronze Age key due to its early appearance and origin story for the character of Moondragon, who first is called by that name in the issue. It's also her first cover appearance, which makes this a significant piece of Marvel Bronze Age history. Moondragon is one of those cool early Bronze Age female characters who, like Mantis, Tigra and Hellcat, eventually made her way into the ranks of both the Avengers, and later, the Defenders and Adam Warlock's Infinity Watch team.
