  1. Tonight you can expect our usual musings on the hobby along with our thoughts on last week's Heritage Auctions' Comic & Comic Art Signature Auction results. Spectacular results came in for works by artists such as Jim Lee, Charles Schulz, Todd McFarlane, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Frank Frazetta, Gil Kane, Dave Gibbons, Bernie Wrightson, Robert Crumb, Basil Wolverton, Carl Barks, and many others. When the auction came to an end, the total price realized was as awesome as the assortment presented: $14.2-million, with almost $6 million of that coming from the sale of original comic art and illustrations!
  2. PANEL PAGE ART IS EXCITED TO OFFER A ROMITA SR. CLASSIC KEY! John Romita Sr. and Mike Esposito Daredevil #105 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1973). Ol' Hornhead is surrounded by trouble, courtesy of Madame McEvil (aka Moondragon) and her "Terrible Trio" -- Ramrod, Angar the Screamer, and Dark Messiah. It's a tight spot for our favorite vision-impaired hero. Size is11x17. This is a book that has become a Bronze Age key due to its early appearance and origin story for the character of Moondragon, who first is called by that name in the issue. It's also her first cover appearance, which makes this a significant piece of Marvel Bronze Age history. Moondragon is one of those cool early Bronze Age female characters who, like Mantis, Tigra and Hellcat, eventually made her way into the ranks of both the Avengers, and later, the Defenders and Adam Warlock's Infinity Watch team. Price is 28,500 To see a larger image or strike a deal: https://panelpageart.com/newitems.asp
  3. Episode 19 - For tonight's 60 minute Episode (we promise!) we'll be chatting about the Comic Art LIVE Fall 2020 Virtual Comic Art Convention that happened over the weekend at ComicArtFans.com. More than $700,000 in confirmed sales happened on Saturday & Sunday, shattering our May 2020 Show's totals. Many things went right. Several things could have gone better. And there are plenty of things we can improve upon while we begin planning the May 2021 Virtual Convention which for all intents and purposes will happen tonight during the broadcast! We welcome your thoughts so please attend tonight's discussion.
  4. Join the Comic Art LIVE team Tuesday night at 9PM EST when we chat with Comic Art Collector Robert Frey. Robert recently celebrated his 16th Anniversary as a CAF Member (whether he knew it or not!), and has one of our favorite collections on the site. A huge fan of George Perez's first run on Avengers, he's collected over 50 pages and covers from issues #141 through #202, and has almost completed Avengers Volume 3 issue #1. Robert also has a fantastic collection of work by Barry Windsor Smith, Jack Kirby, Paul Gulacy and J G Jones, so be sure to check out his gallery after the Episode!
  5. I forgot to post this up earlier.... Fabulous conversation with Ben Saunders tonight, curator of the Marvel Exhibit.
  6. It was a fun show! It was not very well attended, however, the people that came bought art and made deals. From my POV it was just great to be at a show again. Everyone was happy to be there to exchange collecting tales. A number of sales and trades happened between the dealers. I personally did deals with Bechara, Rich and Saul. I also made sales with a number of attendees that came. Nice to see Michael Kenyon, Rob Liefeld, Jon Mankuta, John Cogan, Jeff Siedlik, and Carl Choi. Great to meet Will Larson and the artist, Bing! I think we were so happy to be at a show and not just dealing online that we all went out of our way to be accommodating and make deals happen. Here was the PANEL PAGE ART set up! Glen

  15. EPISODE 16 - COMIC ART LIVE - TUESDAY 9 PM EST, 6 PM PACIFIC. Ray Cuthbert has been collecting original comic art since the 1970's, buying artwork at shows and even mail order from Russ Cochran in the early days of the hobby. Before the rise of eBay, Heritage Auctions and ComicLink, Ray regularly picked up artworks from mail order catalogs from dealers such as Mitch Itkowitz of Graphic Collectibles Albert Moy, and even Steven Donnelly. Many collectors first heard Ray's name because he was one of the moderators of the ComicArt-L Yahoo Group, an early community resource for the hobby which was started in 1998 and is still active today. We'll chat with Ray about his earliest experiences in the hobby, with artists and original comic art dealers. It's sure to be a learning experience for us all!
