Kon_Jelly got a reaction from Tony S in What's the biggest discrepancy you've had between the CGC grade and the grade you thought it should get?
Only if there actually are graders notes. I've had a 9.2 and a 9.4 come back with no notes before.
Biggest difference I had come back was a book I thought was a 9.4 or even a 9.6 come back as an 8.5. Turns out I sent in the wrong copy of the book, and the NM one was still in the bag in my short box. Oh well.

I may have to give up on my quest to own every cover of the series. As it gets more popular there are bound to be more store variants, which is something the first 10 issues haven't really had outside of issue 1. I'll definitely be picking up the Peach cover, though - incredible work!

I am catching up on the old thread and found this post to be exceptionally relevant to the current conversation:

Trimming is not considered restoration.  It is damage that is intended to deceive people & shame on anyone who does not note it.

Some people are confusing "first appearance in a story" with "first printed on paper".
An omnibus that reprints AF15 still contains the first appearance of Spider-Man.

That's a great cover selection. Specially the Superior Spiderman 20. I have a CGC SS 9.6 and I love it.
Did you write the color of the marker you want for the signature?

    Just to show off...

This is incorrect. The USPS does not operate at a loss at all. In fact every rate that they have is audited by the office of the inspector general and the PRC to make sure the rate is profitable. The only reason they are in debt is because of a 2006 law (the PAEA) that requires the USPS to pre-fund pensions through at least 2056, requiring billions in payments every year for a retirement fund that no other entity, public or private, is currently required to do. It's a ridiculous law that was enacted for the sole reason to make the USPS fail.
If you were required to pay 50 years of retirement benefits in advance, you might also want to limit how many employees are eligible for retirement.

It’s pretty easy for me to see that distribution dates do not matter. Which book actually existed first? Virus appeared in the FCBD book before he appeared in Venom #26, regardless of where the book sat in storage.

Kon_Jelly got a reaction from Beige in RallyRd - that old idea about partial ownership of comics is a reality (updated July 21, 2021)
You're equating two things that have literally nothing to do with each other (and also showing a fundamental misunderstanding of Bitcoin at the same time).
Here's the thing - people want to own the comics because they want the actual comics. Once you detach the ownership from the comic itself the interest in owning it is going to plummet.

Seems to me there is quite a bit of downside.
This sounds similar to the companies selling plots of land on the moon - you buy a piece of paper that says you have something that you don't in fact have at all. Then if you actually tell anyone that you bought a fraction of a comic book and they'll think you're insane.
