I've never bought gold or silver, but I'd say....very lucrative

what's going to happen with precious metals (gold and silver) in 2, 5, and 10 years?  

ASM 300 is overpriced right now but a lot of minor/major keys are. I think CW#1 has much more room to grow.
That Venom trailer looked terrible but it's just the first one. 300 may see a bigger spike but there are SO many out there.

ASM 300 will always be the better buy. Over 30yrs old one of Todd Mcfarlane’s greatest creations next to Spawn.What more can you say..

Fairly straight forward, this book is a key that's as hot as his head is flaming!  Excellent inks, still rich and deep as the day they were printed (Picture makes it seem a little light, but the reds are a deep red - not orange in anyway, and the yellows are equally vibrant).

I'm not going to steal Heritage's thunder, but I will say that I spoke to a close buddy today who told me that they will be selling a new pedigree collection of 5,000 high-grade GA books. 
What he was telling me was absolutely mind-blowing.

I doubt the owners realized their little company would one day dictate back issue sales. CGC doesn't claim that the assigned grade is absolute; only that their graders follow the standards set up by Overstreet. Its primary purpose is supposed to be determining whether restoration has been done and find other flaws. The sealed plastic case serves as protection. The number on the label is really just a bonus. For years, collectors understood that there was no such thing as a guaranteed grade, but that has shifted to where not only is the CGC-assigned grade "official", their competition is somehow viewed as risky or inferior in the process of grading a comic. The graders for these companies are trained in-house over a relatively short period of time. They aren't graduates from a 4-year intensive grading college with the companies fighting over the top achievers. Most probably started in another position and wanted a better one. The nice shiny clear holders with the fancy label and a bar code allowing a registry to be kept, and a big, bold number between 0-10 turn a flimsy periodical into something that looks "official", but it's only an illusion. There are too many variables and inconsistencies to consider the assigned grade as being perfect.

I agree, why does anyone have anything nice or evaluate the condition of anything?  Or even collect anything? Why does the price of anything even ever change?
 
why do I even want my favorite baseball team to pay bigger money for better players?  The suckier players are trying just as hard and I’m sure many of them are nice to their mothers.  From a pure objective entertainment standpoint, baseball games are equally entertaining whether my team wins or loses.

No doubt.   There’s a copy on EBay with BIN/BO $9500 ( it was listed at $8050 the same day as the last $8500 sale, but was quickly bumped up) that should set things up for the big 10k breaker.
 
 
 

The book you're asking about sold for $7400 on April 29. It sold on eBay, and GPA doesn't link our eBay sales like they do for sales made on our site.

I imagine a large number of the specs will attempt to unload at the 10k mark. Will the market be flooded with 9.8s when that happens?  We’ll just have to wait and see.

CGC intended to make money off of the market demanding an "impartial" assignation of a numerical grade to their beloved collectibles.  Pretty simple.

Isn't the contents of a comic book more important than the grade? I am getting tired of seeing comics on Ebay and elsewhere that are graded a 9.8 or higher on sale for at least $1000 and they are of absolutely no importance whatsoever. You are just paying for the grade of a nothing special comic. Is this what CGC intended? Next time I set up for a show, should I just have blank 9.8, 9.9, and 10 slabs on my wall and sell them for $1000 a pop because the comic is not important.
I would much rather buy a mid grade first appearence or origin issue than a nothing 9.8 comic.
What do you all think?
