jjonahjameson11
I am always on the lookout for high grade ASM 300’s as I continue towards my personal goal of obtaining 80 copies (it’s the first book that I speculated on, and I purchased 80 copies from my LCS when it was 1st published) very recently, I’ve noticed a strong uptick in prices for the book, not just 9.8, but 9.6 and 9.4’s as well. anyone know why this book is spiking now? Ryan.
Hasn't there been an uptick across the board for all books during the quarantine? ygogolak, Hollywood1892 and zosocane

I don't follow too many books so I can't say for certain that there's been an uptick across the board. Just curious as to the uptick for ASM

I'd agree with this for the most part. While some people struggle during the quarantine with furloughs and being laid off, others are reaping the awards of the extra incentive of being unemployed and putting that money right back into the hobby. ASM300 is a great book (don't get me wrong, I do understand its appeal) but IMO the novice collectors seem to snatch this book up at any grade and any price ballooning the price further when these novices find some extra money to spend. The lower end sales tend to drive up the prices of the higher end grades.

I realize some states provide varying levels of funding for residents during covid, but I can't imagine their income is higher than whilst employed? Some people at lower incomes are making more money unemployed then actually being employed because of the Covid +600 bump. So someone who would normally be pulling in say 400 bucks a week would now be pulling more on unemployment because of the Covid $600 increase. So those folk who are comic collectors and not financially savvy are just dumping it right into the hobby. This is pretty prevalent on Facebook and Instagram auctions where books sell for way above FMV. Please do not to turn this into a thread about unemployment or anything of that nature. Kevin76
your average comic fan would rather buy ASM 300 than a golden age book of the same price Keys_Collector and djzombi
