  1. Does anyone here follow Pulp Librarian on X/Twitter? I'm sure everyone here has already heard of this artist, but Pulp Librarian has a really cool thread about Walter Molino. I'd never seen his work before, but I think it's pretty amazing. I hope this links to the full thread: Walter Molino
  2. Based on the cover you would think the book would just be one page in length with just the one word "Divorce". Maybe it would say - Divorce. The End. At least that's what it would be if my wife were writing it.
  3. PM Sent! Thor/Marvel Spectacular lot on hold pending pm reply. Marvel Spectaculars are all SOLD. New price for Thor lot if anyone is interested.
  4. One price drop and then I will put this thread out of it's misery. Thanks again to all who have looked!
  5. Grades and descriptions for Thor/Marvel Spectacular lot. Scans to follow. Thor 147 - 6.5 - maybe slightly nicer - OW to slightly Cream pages. Front cover: soft edges along bottom. Slight corner ding bottom right. Baler marks on lower part of comic. Thor 209 - 5.0 - OW to slightly Cream pages. Front cover: slight corner bend lower right. Thumb crease/bend top middle. Very slight spine roll. Foxing on both front and back covers (looks darker in scan than in hand). Printers crease back cover. Thor 212 - 7.5/8.0 - Nice glossy copy. OW pages. Front cover: small corner bend top right. Some spine tics. Thor 228 - 5.5 - OW to slightly Cream pages. Front cover: crease at the bottom on the right hand side that goes through “THE BIRTH AND DEATH OF EGO”. Other surface impressions/dings bring grade down a bit. Thor 249 (Mark Jewelers) - 4.5 - Cream pages. Obvious spine roll probably due to Mark Jewelers insert. Some crumpling on the back cover lower right side again possibly due to insert. Also a star shaped mark in the O on THOR on the front cover. Thor 260 - 5.0/5.5 - Cream pages. Front cover: bend upper right that breaks color. Spine stress that break color. Back cover: indentions/thumb bends top middle. Thor 284 - 5.0 - OW pages. Grade mostly due to spots of foxing on the front and back cover. It would be higher grade otherwise. Some red overspray on the top and bottom open edge corners. Thor 285 - 5.5 - OW pages. Front cover: some surface impressions on Karkas head and a corner bend on the lower right that goes through his foot but does not break color. Back cover is nice, no major problems. SOLD!! Marvel Spectacular #1 (reprints Thor #128) - 6.0 - Nice, glossy mid-grade copy, looks higher grade. Off-white to cream pages. Front cover: slight vertical 2 1/2” pen impression (right side of comic title), a few surface impressions, spine tics. Back cover: soft corner (upper left corner), small slight bend (bottom left corner), otherwise very nice & clean. SOLD!! Spectacular #2 (reprints Thor #129) - 4.5 - Decent looking lower mid-grade copy. Off-white to cream pages. Front cover: several areas of vertical thumb creasing with color break (right open edge), dog-ear creasing with color break (bottom right corner), spine stresses. Back cover: a few very light bends (upper left corner), areas of light dirt. SOLD!! Spectacular #3 (reprints Thor #130) - 5.0 - Decent looking mid-grade copy. Off-white to cream pages. Front cover: 3 1/2” non-color breaking vertical bend in book (top right open edge), 1/4” dog-ear color breaking crease (bottom right corner), spine stresses. Back cover: small 1/32” chip (lower left open edge), dirt spot (upper right near spine). SOLD!! Spectacular #5 (reprints Thor #134) - 8.0 - Really nice glossy copy! Off-white to slightly cream pages. Front cover: a few light spine tics, soft corners (top and bottom right), very light thumb crease (top right open edge). Back cover: a few light spine tics, otherwise very nice.
  6. I will start with the grades and descriptions for the Warfront comics first. Scans will follow. Warfront 1 (Pre-code Harvey) - 2.0 - Cream to slightly tan pages - also tanning to inside covers. Front cover: Color are nice, but subscription crease that breaks color. Small tears along top and open edge, small piece missing top right and smaller chip bottom right. Top staple pushed in but still seems to be attached - may come loose at some point though. Spine fairly rough at top. There is a small tear (1/4”) at top of spine. Back cover: small tear at top middle where subscription crease begins as well as other surface creases/indentions. Tanning as well. Centerfold is attached at both staples. Warfront 11 (Red Lice issue) (Pre-code Harvey) - 2.5/3.0 - Decent lower grade book. Cream to tan pages - also tanning to inside covers. Front cover: tanning top and bottom. Small chips missing top right and bottom right. Small tears along top and open edge. Small piece missing top spine. Creasing along spine and some abrasions. Back cover: tanning around all sides. A couple small pieces missing along spine. Small tears along top edge and a couple on open edge. Small chip top left corner. Centerfold is secure. Warfront 12 (Pre-code Harvey) - 2.5/3.0 - Cream to tan pages - also tanning to inside covers. Front cover: Small tears along edges. Mark in T of WARFRONT. 1/4” tear bottom spine. Creases along spine with some abrasions. Top staple no longer attached but it seems like a small piece of cover is still holding on so it doesn’t pull away completely. Back cover: pretty decent but does have tanning and some small tears at the top. Centerfold is attached at both staples.

  8. Haven't Posted any new books in a while. Here are a few recent buys. And an early Father's Day gift from my wife. Posting this mostly for Lowell, but I know there are some other Peanuts fans on the boards.
  9. Yeah, I'm with Lowell. I don't even collect those books and I would have not left the store without buying every one of them.
  10. This contest has made me re-evaluate how harshly I grade a lot of my books. I put 6.5 on the SW #8 and I thought I was being generous. It was a 2 point bump from what I would have graded it if I owned it. A few years ago I sold a raw FF #48 that had a lower staple with just a bit of rust on it (no migration) and I graded it 5.0. It was a really nice glossy book otherwise. I think it had one slight corner bend also. Now I'm thinking about how much money I probably lost.
  11. If anyone wants both books, I will take $185 $170 shipped CONUS for both of them. Thanks for looking!
  12. Superman 195 CGC 9.2 Asking $110 $100 shipped CONUS Please note: Very nice looking book but Cream to Off-White pages. Also case appears to have a couple small (about 1/2" length), slight rubs above Krypto's head. Hard to see unless you hold it up to the light just right.
  13. Can't fit these on the scanner so I took photos in my office with the lights off to reduce glare. I apologize that they are a bit grainy. World Of Fantasy 17 CGC 3.5 Asking $100 $90 shipped CONUS Please note: small chips upper right front cover, small dog ear lower right front cover, tanning to back cover.
  14. I am always open to reasonable offers. Please note: CGC cases may have minor imperfections. If I notice anything major, I will make a note of it in the listing. I try to do my best to check for minor/light scratches, but my eyes aren't what they used to be. First in the thread wins. Please do not edit your post after posting PAYMENT Paypal only. 15. Weekend home office project. Set up my new Billy Bookcase with glass doors. I really like it. Only made it halfway through H's though going alphabetical by author. My wife said, "I told you that you needed two!" She's buying a second one for me right now. Going through my books, I found a copy of Jack Vance's The Dying Earth ( Pocket Books version) that has been on my Ebay watch list for at least a year. I never could find a nice copy, but it turns out I already own it. Lol.
  16. Just finished reading Ray Russell's Haunted Castles which includes the Sardonicus novella. I just feel like the back cover photo needs a Real Men of Genius song, so I wrote one. I hope you will forgive me, I just wanted to share it. ANNOUNCER: Bud Light Presents: Real Men of Genius SINGER: Real Men of Genius A: Today we salute you: Mr. Scary Story Writer (Mr. Scary Story Writer) A: You know that a menacing, steely eyed back cover photo is more important than a good book title. (Ooh…Haunted Castles) A: The pen may be mightier than the sword, but it will never slay the ladies like a well-manicured beard and mustache. (Fear the beard) A: Should you have a forward or a preface? That’s a joke, right? You’re Ray F’n Russell (Man needs no introductions) A: While we’re sleeping, you’re typing tales that keep us sitting in our living room at 3 in the morning with all the lights on. (It’s the only time I can watch Match Game reruns) So crack open a nice cold Bud Light Master of gothic horror. Because you put the creep in creepy. (His eyes keep following me) A: Bud Light Beer Anheuser Busch St. Louis, MO
  17. That's it! I would take $70.00 shipped CONUS for both lots if someone is interested. I am also always open to reasonable offers. Thanks for looking!
