  1. All books SOLD! I'm selling the last few issues of my X-Men collection. If anyone is interested in buying all the books listed here. I would sell the whole lot for $375 shipped with insurance. That deal, of course, is off once the first book sells. I think I have fairly reasonable prices, but offers are always entertained as well. First in the thread wins. Please do not edit your post after posting PAYMENT Paypal only. Payments should be made within three days of purchase. SHIPPING USPS priority shipping with insurance is my preference for shipping. I usually ship in a Gemini mailer and then put that into a USPS Priority flat rate box. I can ship in a Gemini mailer by itself which is a little less expensive, but in my opinion, not as secure. Anyone who buys a book can let me know their preference. I won't ship media mail. I've had too many bad experiences. Shipping is exact cost on orders less than $200 Shipping is free on orders over $200 I love our Canadian and overseas members, but will only ship CONUS right now. Also, I only ship on Sunday morning due to work and family schedule. I will not sell to any H.O.S. Members or anyone currently on the probation list. Although I've never had any issues, full or partial refunds available if you contact me within 10 days of receiving your purchase. I typically do not offer refunds on CGC graded books. I think that covers it. Here's the books! 99 7.5/8.0 - a couple slight dimples/indentations on back cover. OW pages - $60 105 5.5/6.0 - some surface dimples/impressions on front and back cover. OW-Cream pages - $18 109 5.0/5.5 - color flecks at top front cover. Mark on Weapon Alpha’s head. Crease along bottom back cover. OW-Cream pages - $65 113 - 5.0 - I thought it was in the 7.0 range until I flipped it over and saw that piece missing. OW pages. - $15 116 - 6.0 - Thought this one was in the 8.0 range, but a light horizontal pen impression (4”) at Colossus’ knee and a pen impression of the number 11 with a short (1/4”) line in the black area to the right of X-MEN knock it down. OW pages - $18 117 - 8.0 - Again looks 9.0 but light pen impression of three short (1/4”) parallel vertical lines in the N of X-MEN bring it down. Also has a very small (less than 1/16”) chip out of lower right corner. OW pages - $25 123 - 8.5/9.0 - tiny color fleck about 1 1/2” down from the TM symbol. Very small (less than 1/16”) corner bend on right corner. Nice glossy book otherwise. OW pages - $32 124 - 8.0 - Short non color breaking crease on lower right front cover and a couple surface dimples/indentations on lower back cover. Thumb smudge around middle spine back cover. OW pages - $20 128 - 8.0/8.5 - A couple small surface dimples/indentations on front cover. One in the M of X-MEN and a couple dimples right below that. OW pages - $32 133 - 6.0 - Printing defect of light vertical lines printed on front (straight down the middle) and back cover. Other accumulation of non color breaking dimples and spine stress/creases. OW pages - $30 135 - 8.0 - Small spine stress top staple and very small 1/16” corner bend top right corner and corner bend lower left corner on front cover. Otherwise nice glossy book. OW pages - $36 136 - 6.5 - A few light small dimples on front cover and slight bend on lower right back cover. Spine stress on back cover as well. OW pages - $22 140 - 6.5/7.0 - Small corner crease top left front cover and corner bend lower front cover. Otherwise nice glossy book. White to OW pages - $16 143(a) - 7.0/7.5 - Some stress dimples along spine on front cover and a few other small dimples on front and back cover. White to OW pages - $14 I was so disappointed when I bought those 132 roman soldiers. They were just flat low quality plastic soldiers. 143(b) - 7.5/8.0 - Some surface impressions from pen on front cover (looks like a 2 and then a small square) it’s very hard to see unless you hold it up to the light just right. A couple small spine dimples on front cover. OW to Cream pages - $16
  2. Here's a closer cropped version of the two staples from my original scan. I have looked at both staples with a magnifying glass and don't see any rust. The larger scan may still not help.
  3. Many of these are from the bent corner collection. (BCC) I think you can see the bends/blunting best on the back cover scans. I'm asking $400 for the lot. Not sure what happened with the bent corners. I think I bought several of the books in a lot and they got dented in shipping. If it weren't for the stupid corners, several of these would be more in the VF+ range. They are all nice and glossy with the exception of 14 due to the obvious staining issue. I feel like this is a really nice set for someone looking for a mid to upper mid grade run. Almost every book looks much better in hand than given grade. Here is a link to my old feedback thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4325727 If you need additional references I'm sure there are several other long time members that would be willing to vouch for me as well. First in the thread wins. Please do not edit your post after posting PAYMENT Paypal only. Payments should be made within three days of purchase. SHIPPING USPS priority shipping with insurance is included in price. Books will be packed brick style with a piece of cardboard in between every 4 or 5 books. Members or anyone currently on the probation list. Although I've never had any issues, full or partial refunds available if you contact me within 10 days of receiving your purchase. I typically do not offer refunds on CGC graded books. I think that covers it. Here's the books! 1 - 7.5/8.0 - Very slight spine roll with a small dimple near Iron Fist’s crotch. Slightly OW pages 2 - 6.5 - Some light spine stress front cover. A diagonal crease bottom back cover open side and a half moon crease at the top back cover. OW pages 3 - 7.0 - Two very small slight bends top right front cover. A 1/4” or so crease lower right front cover - OW pages 4 (BCC) - 6.5/7.0 - A couple spine stress dimples on front cover. A lower right corner blunting (about 1/8” front to 1/4" back) that goes all the way through the book. OW pages 5 (BCC) - 6.5/7.0 - Same as #4. Light spine stress and a corner blunting that is about 1/8” on the front cover goes all the way through book about 1/4” to back cover. Slightly OW pages 6 (BCC) - 6.5/7.0 - Same as #4 & #5. Ding on lower right front cover goes all the way to back. About 1/16” on front to a little over 1/4” on back. OW pages 7 (BCC) - 6.0/6.5 - Same as others above. Ding is a bit worse on this one. Starts at about 1/4” on front and then almost 1/2” on back. - OW pages 8 (BCC) - 6.0/6.5 - A slight spine abrasion lower left spine. Corner bend on lower front cover about 1/2” that goes all the way through the book. OW pages 9 - 7.5 - Slight dimple on the dude’s hand holding the nunchucks. Light spine stresses. Slightly OW pages 10 - 8.0/8.5 - A couple very light spine stresses. Otherwise nice book. White to OW pages. 11 - 6.5/7.0 - A couple light spine stresses. Small ding lower right front cover about 1/32” and a small chip about 1/32” out of back cover open side middle. OW pages 12 (BCC) - 6.0 - Accumulation of small defects including the bent corner starts on front slightly more than 1/8” and ends at the back about 1/4”. OW pages 13 (BCC) - 6.5 - Abrasion lower left front cover. Very slight corner bend upper right front cover just a bit over 1/4” and goes all the way through book. Slightly OW pages 14 - 5.5/6.0 - Put this one in the PGM because of the staining. I feel like this is a good grade. Staining is not as obtrusive in hand as the scans make it look. Minor spine roll as well. OW pages 15 - 8.0/8.5 - A couple very slight spine stresses/dimples and a short, slight non color breaking crease on the right front cover in the lamp. Slightly OW pages
  4. I'm grateful for the input on the book from everyone. I was kind of in the 7.5 range on this one, maybe 8.0. But maybe I'll drop down to a 7.0 based on the comments. Thanks again!
  5. Hmm... staples aren't rusty and back is actually clean. It does have the corner issues though and the staple stress. I'm not sure where you are seeing the light foxing. I pulled the book out again to double check. Staples are good too.
  6. Mostly just an accumulation of a few minor defects. Some very minute chips on the right open edge front cover above the topmost stone, stress lines at staples, slightly blunted top left and lower left corners with some stress lines. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  7. Thanks for the input. I just wasn't sure how much to deduct for staining like this. I appreciate the replies!
  8. If it weren't for the staining I'd be tempted to grade it in the 7.5/8.0 range. Other defects probably not visible in the scan is a very slight spine roll. I would appreciate any thoughts. I'm checking my Overstreet grading guide and I don't feel like I could grade it any higher than 5.5 because of the staining. Maybe that's even too high. Staining is a bit lighter in hand than the scans show, but definitely an issue. Thanks for the feedback!!
  9. Great transaction. Paid promptly and good communication. Thanks Jon!!
  10. One last price reduction and I updated description on Great Comics 1 just to make it a bit more clear. It's a nice book and looks good in mylar. Folds are easier to see on the back than the front but they do go through the book. All books sold. Thanks to everyone who purchased from me!
  11. Lowered prices on Baffling Mysteries and Great Comics. Thanks for the purchases!!
  12. That's it. I have some errands to run, but will check back later today. Offers are always welcome but I'm pretty firm on the LB Cole book prices. Thanks for looking!
  13. SOLD per pm Great Comics 1 4.0 It has a horizontal crease in the lower third of the book. I think you can see it fairly well in the back cover scan going through the word "Cookies". It's similar to a subscription crease that goes all the way through the book only horizontally. It gets lighter as it nears the spine. Colors are really nice on this one. Non-color breaking dog-ears in upper and lower right corners that also go all the way through book. I can see Barrel O' Fun in the blacked out indicia, although I thought this was the Knockout variant since the whole indicia is blacked out. $250 shipped Let's try $225 shipped.
  14. SOLD per pm Startling Terror Tales 10 1.8 I thought this one was a bit higher grade. The piece missing from the top left corner loose is in the comic bag. 1 1/2" spine split at top, 1/2" spine split bottom and the top staple is barely hanging on. I think if it gets removed one more time it may come loose completely. I've had it for a while now and it hasn't come off yet though. $250 shipped
  15. SOLD per pm. The Unseen 11 2.0 Color breaking crease in center front cover. Almost looks like sub crease. Other small tears and slight creasing on book brings grade down. $175 shipped
  16. SOLD per pm Baffling Mysteries 6 2.0/2.5 Unfortunately there is quite a bit of surface creasing on the right side of the front cover that brings grade down. $70 shipped $50 shipped
  17. It's been a while since I've sold on the boards. Here is a link to my old feedback thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4325727 If you need additional references I'm sure there are several other long time members that would be willing to vouch for me as well. 18. Thanks for the replies. 7.0 was kind of where I was leaning.
  19. Not sure how to grade this copy. It has some light surface impressions in the middle of the front cover on Fu Manchu's nose and just below his chin. They are only visible if you hold the book up in light at a good angle. But above the TE in the word MASTER there are two pretty deep pen pinhole sized impressions. I think you can see them in the scan. They are deep but do not puncture the cover. I'm not sure how to grade the book though because of this issue. Other than that issue, the book has a few other minor problems - spine stress on lower staple and a slight non color breaking bend on the lower left front cover corner. It's a very nice glossy, clean book otherwise. Initially, I was going to grade the book VF but I'm not sure I can with the deep pen impressions. Thanks for your input!
  20. Looking for some opinions on this book. Color and cover gloss is good. Just disappointing about the top staple - looks like some rust w/ migration. Without that, I'd think it might be in the 5.0 range, but not sure how to adjust grade for staple. Thanks for your thoughts.
  21. I'm getting ready for a massive sell-off of my collection. Do you think there would be any interest in a near complete run of WWBN that includes MS 2, 3, & 4 in addition to issues 1, 15, 32, 33, and 37? I'd like to sell it as a group lot instead of parting out the key issues. The key issues are all in the 7.0/7.5 range except for 37 which is around Fine condition. My price would be very reasonable (IMHO). Just wondering if anyone thinks it could actually sell as a lot instead of just selling the individual keys? I'm in the process of scanning the books now.
  22. My condolences to his family and friends. I'm very sorry for their loss.
