  1. I calculated that without a computer. yeah, but did yours have as many "0"'s as mine That's what she said.
  2. Nice Superboy books. Congrats! I still need both those for my run.
  3. I'm planning on selling around 100+ books beginning this weekend. My wife and I are still trying to buy our first house, hopefully before the end of the year, and we need to downsize to make the move as easy as possible. Most of these books are doubles that are just taking up space. Mostly BA Marvel books with a couple SA Spideys (21 & 37). Grades range from 5.0 - 7.0 with a few higher and lower grades. I do have a couple higher grade slabs I may throw in too. Titles include - ASM, PPSSP, Marvel Team-up (1 - 23 or so), Marvel Two-in-one (1 - 10?), Defenders (2 - 23 or so), Thor, Hulk, Hero for Hire, and some others. There may be some BA comic mags as well. Prices will be 20 - 30% of (of not off - i.e. $20 OS = $4-6 price) OSPG with a few exceptions. Because several of the runs are almost complete, I may try to sell them in groups first and then break them up individually if there isn't much interest. It might be a total waste of time, but hopefully my prices will be low enough to generate some interest.
  4. Chocolate Coke? Is there really such a thing? I can't decide if that sounds delicious or gross. Is there a Sonic near you? You can order chocolate coke there and try it. We used to have a place called the Pop Shop when I was a kid and they had chocolate coke in a bottle. It was called something else, but it was chocolate coke. It was delicious. Shasta also used to make chocolate soda which was pretty good with a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos or Cheetos.

  12. The temperature was dropping and freezing rain blanketed the streets as I made my way to the post office this evening. I was eagerly awaiting my shipment of comics from our beloved forum member, Aces. The 10 minute drive seemed like hours as I thought about the goodies that may be waiting for me there. finally, I arrived. I could hardly contain my excitement as I entered the post office. Slowly, I cracked open my po box door, hoping against hope that a pink delivery notice might be inside. Low and behold, under a small pile of bills, it was there! Joy of joys, indeed it was there! I turned quickly to see if there was a line. Only two people. Only two people standing between me and my shipment of comics. I raced to get in line before anyone else could get in front of me. While I waited, a new register opened and the lady asked if she could help anyone. I said, "I just have a package to pick up" to which she replied, "Oh, I can help you with that." I handed her my notice, butterflies dancing around in my stomach. I was now only moments away from comic goodness. I watched with great anticipation as she entered a small room behind the counter area. Quickly she emerged, box in hand. There they were, there were my comics! She handed me the box, then told me to have a nice night and drive safely. I clutched the box lovingly in my arms, thanked her and swiftly exited the building, being careful to protect my treasure from the treacherous elements outside. The car ride back to my apartment was a blur, I only remember gently setting my new arrival in the passenger side bucket seat of my Grand Prix. Upon arriving home, I hastily threw off my coat and other winter garments, careful to set my shipment down on the kitchen counter first. The red, white, and blue priority mail box seemed to shine extra bright as I sat on my couch, package in hand (think whatever you want here. now on with my story). I peeled back the tab labelled "Pull To Open" then cracked open the box just a little, then a little more. Not one but two beautiful envelopes lay gently cushioned by the business section of the Buffalo News Sunday paper. I pulled the first envelope out of the box. Which issues of the Fantastic Four awaited me in this envelope? It was 82, 83, & 84. I quickly looked them over to check their condition. They were everything I had hoped they would be. Now I was even more eager to open the second envelope. Issues 89, 93, & 94. A quick glance at them and I knew they too were exactly as advertised. Unable to contain myself anymore, I ran to the door out to my apartment balcony, swung it open and cried, "ACES!!!" Once more, freezing rain beating at my face, "ACES!!!" Knowing that praising his name from my apartment balcony could not possibly be enough, I swore my undying gratitude, pledging all that I still own (other than my comics of course), muscle, bone, blood, and the heart that pumps it. Now realizing that at some point during all this, I had taken off my pants and was wearing only boxer briefs and a T-shirt in 24 degree weather and freezing rain, I reentered the warmth and protection of my apartment where my wonderful knew additions awaited me.
  13. Of course, you will have my undying adoration too, but I haven't got the books yet. When I do, I will proclaim my eternal gratitude and shout your name in praise from my apartment balcony. Then I will sit in my comfy chair and read all my new funny books.
  14. The following forum members have my undying gratitude for some great transactions - cd4ever - for some very sweet Action comics and an undergraded DD! skypinkblu - for helping me out in a pinch. I am very grateful! dzminn - for some very nice reading material and freebies to boot! Monstro - for some more very nice reading material. I love 52 pagers! mschmidt - for some very sweet BA FF's! and last, but certainly not least greggy - for a few SSWS, a couple Batmans, and some sweet Tarzan books. I'm just gonna have to say it, I love greggy's junk! All are great forum members to deal with and the books I received were graded accurately and shipped expertly. However, I do have to say that the package I received from greggy would probably survive 2 nuclear winters and an alien and zombie attack. to all

  18. he likes us better. The beauty of it is that I've sold him nothing. All I've done was pick his gift that he donated last year. I was looking for some freebie that was the fruit of British Columbia in my VCC box, but to no avail. No worries, I packed a banana with your books! (thumbs u That's what I used to say to all the girls in school.

  22. I'm sure there are plenty of others you need to upgrade. Seriously, kudos does not quite express the gratitude I have for Danny selling me his undercopy of Superboy 2. I don't think I would have ever had the opportunity to purchase as nice of a copy outside of these boards. It is definitely the highlight of my collection. Many thanks!
  23. My only problem with not being able to view the FS forum is that the FS forum is how many people, I presume, get drawn into the forum in the first place. You could view, just not post. I do understand what you are saying though, that may especially be true in regard to the VCC.
  24. Yeah, I just figured it should go both ways to be fair and also because I think it would make it easier to regulate. That way, you could just state that no transactions are allowed in the FS forum - buying or selling - until certain conditions were met, i.e 25 posts/14 days as a member. It would also be easier to set up from a technical standpoint in the website admin.
  25. I pretty much do the same thing. I generally will not buy from someone that hasn't established themselves as a part of this community over a certain period of time. If I do break that rule, then I have a whole checklist of things I go through to help me decide whether to buy from that person or not. I don't think I've ever broken that rule though. Regarding a waiting period, I've never used UBBthreads, but in other forums that I've worked with, in the admin you can set up rules that would lock certain users out of specific areas of the forum. You could also set up user levels which might work to do this as well. The FS forum would be locked to anyone who didn't have at least 25 posts and/or 14 days as a member. I can't comment on the failure to pay thing. I always pay and I've been fortunate in that everyone I've ever sold anything to has paid very promptly as well.
