  1. Nice! Did you get that off of Pedigree Comics?
  2. Great books, Darwin. It was also nice seeing you this weekend. (thumbs u
  3. Thanks Casey! Took some time but worth it - only need about 10 more books from 1-27 and a couple more reprint books (those will be tough!). Didn't you pick up the #73 and can now change your sig. line?? true but I'm still waiting for it. Scott's a little slow in mailing it out. So I don't want to jinx it.
  4. Great books, Nik. Even nicer in person. (thumbs u
  5. Congrats, Drew on completing the 27-66 run.
  6. Very nice!! I'm a pedigree fan myself. I've been trying to get at least one of each of the SA Ped's. I have most of the ones you listed except for the last two. I'm also hope to someday add those as well as a White Mountain and a Green River.
  7. Sorry to hear about this, Brent. I hope you and Mark are able to get the money you deserve.
  8. When I decide to part with my beloved X-books, you'll get first crack at it. just what books do you have? I might want to get in on this.
  9. This is the 2nd time in less than a few weeks where someone has said they wouldn't do business with someone from NY or NJ. Statements like this are unecessary and not based on fact only on a few bad apples. I, myself, am from NY and have never had a bad transaction either here, ebay, or the valiant message boards. Korvac Saga (NY) and burntboy (NJ) Mutant Keys (NY) and I am sure many other NY/NJ people are above the line people as well. If I have forgotten anyone Please don't lump us all into "bad NY/NJ people" . That's just not a fair assessment. You may not like ComicLink, Metro, or Silver Age, and if that's the case, don't deal with them. Your general prejudice against the entire NY/NJ region is just wrong and, if I may be so bold, uneducated. Shady dealings happen every day in every corner of the world...don't make assumptions on your limited knowledge/prejudice. This mess pisses me off... Bill (Proud NYer) Raises hand...New York! It's just the concentration of population here...I'm sure if you looked hard enough, you'd find the same percentage of crooks anywhere, we just have more and better newspapers and more publicity;) Meanwhile, I read one of the threads that mentioned a comic book store named Fantasia in Westchester...I never bought any back issues when I went there, but it was not far from me... I used to go to Fantazia back in the day. Bought new issues and back issues. Nearly 50% of the back issues came back with slight CT when I submitted them a few years ago.
  10. Don't feel bad. That's the name of the game. (thumbs u
  11. Who won it? Don't know, but I wasn't anywhere near that price. The other two went for more than I was willing to pay as well. How much did the 296 go for? I had no clue the 294 would go even close to that mark. I predicted 200-250 and 150-175 for the 296. I don't think anything suspicious went on... I had been monitoring the auctions the last few days and comparing bids and times placed. 1 guy bid on a bunch of stuff in the 201-300 range at the same time (bid time stamps) on the 14th. 1 of the bids popped up high so I figured out roughly what was his maximum bid was on most the books I wanted a day early. That being said I picked up about 27 copper books. I picked up some stuff in the 144-200 range that I wasn't expecting to get so cheap, so I threw the money at the rarer ones in the 200 range. It all averaged out in the end. And it was me who ended up with the 294, and no, I didn't expect it to go that high either. Some one threw up a high bid at the last moment just before me that pushed me up. But like I said, it all averaged out for me. I paid less than expected for the books I wanted. Getting 27 books from the same place, from a fellow collector, is a bunch better than hunting and pecking on Ebay. Some of the pricing on Ebay gets out of control, than you have to deal with the shipping price per item. Congrats on the 294!! Great book and hard to find in that grade.
  12. Why are you selling? Buying more Sonic the Hedgehog OA? Bills, not all of us have deep pockets I hear ya. Check the sig.
  13. Why are you selling? Buying more Sonic the Hedgehog OA?
  14. I'm right there with you, the price jumped up and fast on that one. 79 is extremely tough to get His 76 sold for over $1,200.
  15. Sorry that you didn't win the book that you wanted, beancurd. I'm really shocked! I mean, when I saw that Scottie was selling off everything all in one day, I was thinking that he would saturate the market. I estimate that the #2 through #66 total sale was $35k to $40k total. (very rough, assumes an average of about $600 each) I thought that the relatively few collectors that could afford books of those grades would not be able or willing to bid on more than a few and that this would limit bidding on some books. I was wrong! In a way, I'm happy that there is so much demand and available cash for high-grade X-Men books. Perhaps the X-Men title is doing better than I realized. I need to get working on that price index study. It's so overdue. Rhonda From the ones I was bidding on, it looks like the silver and bronze age ones went for pretty good prices, while the copper were average or below average except the keys and rare ones. His UXM #294 sold for $413.
  16. Hi Rhonda!!, Glad to see you back. The only book I won was the #39 though I did bid on the 41 and 44. I think Scott did pretty well. Some of those prices were amazing. I know i didn't do half as well when I sold some of my undercopies (same grade or higher) of the same issues.
