  1. This just in... :cloud9:

    Yikes! That is absolutely fantastic!

I looked it up in the Heritage archive, but that sale was a few years back. Who was the owner in the interim, and who did you buy it from? I'm always amazed when books of this caliber and scarcity come up for sale, and I always wonder what prompted the seller to let it go.

    Hi Andrew,

Don't know if the previous owner wants to be known or not...suffice it to say, I had heard that he had it and inquired as the the availability (I didn't think it would be available)...to my surprise it was and we worked out a price!! I am very happy to have it though :cloud9:

Thanks to topofthetotem for the sweet Hulk 112 PC

  3. Avengers 3 page by Jack Kirby. Here's the plain white matte mentioned above. I think I like the white because it doesn't compete with the art for attention.

Hey Rhino, I know it's a few pages back, but I LOVE this page. Kudos to you for landing it. I agree that the white matting was a smart move, and it doesn't compete w/ the art.

Can I ask how long you've had it and how much it was (just curious how much Kirby pages are, you don't have to answer if you don't want to - I'm just very impressed!)?

I just went through as well and this piece caught my eye...beautiful piece and I agree on the framing...

  4. Just got this one in:

Certain "enthusiastic" doh!:pullhair::tonofbricks::censored: collectors have been REEEEEEEEALLLLY driving up the prices on TTA's as of late!!

It takes two to tango, but things have been going off the charts lately. I think it all started last year when that #82 9.6 went for $1,200 or so... then guys got plain tetchy on the big books

I sold my spare 9.6 #93 for a record price, Socal comics had another 9.6 that went for similar money, and things kept getting worse!

TTA keys are hot property right now, but the #79 pricing does seem agressive. Great cover, but hulk and Herc have tangled plenty of times...why this book is top dollar is a little lost on me (shrug)

Since I began collecting TTA's over 2 and a half years ago, I have not seen a 9.6 79 for sale...it's a great cover IMHO...there has been a LOT of competition for 9.6's in the 59-101 range...just look around the web...hardly any 9.6's for sale (and the ones that are for sale are priced VERY aggressively. There were 2 pedigreed 82's in 9.6 that have sold..the one you are referring to is the one that you and I both bid on and lost out on :o Needless to say, we were both stunned at the final price

The 2nd I picked up for around the price of the first (neither hit GPA as they were both on C-Link)...I guess it all comes down to supply and demand (shrug)

    (thumbs u

    Hey Brass...ASM Annual 3 (11/66)

How about FF5? Johhny is reading a copy of HULK #1 and the Hulk is clearly shown for a few panels...

I was told that this was FF4 that he was reading copy and that FF5 had a full page ad for Hulk 1...can anyone confirm with some scans please :foryou:

No, it was 5. Johnny was reading a Sub-Mariner comic in 4. In 5 he's reading Hulk.

And you call yourself a BigHulkFan...tsk tsk ;)

There is also a Hulk cameo in both FF Annual #1 and Spider-man Annual #1

I knew it was FF5...the only reason I got confused is that I was speaking with Ted from Superworld and he was convinced it was FF4...did the FF5 have a full page ad for Hulk 1 as well?

  7. There is also a Hulk cameo in both FF Annual #1 and Spider-man Annual #1
He's on the cover (well, his face in profile anyway) of FF Annual #3 also.

    And what about Avengers 17...?

I was award of the ASM Annual 1cameo, but did not know of the FF 1 Annual...anybody have a scan?? FF annual 3 as well...

We spoke about the Avengers 17 earlier but the thread hasn't been updated
