  1. Hey gang, I'm hoping somebody will see this - if just for the shear amount of threads and messages in this CGC forum. But, I'm interested in sending in a book for the CGC private signing. Is it possible to have 2 artists sign the same book? When going thru the submission process I can only choose one artist. As an example, I'd love to have Frank Miller and Chris Claremont sign the same book. Thanks in advance
  2. Thanks a bunch for the replies, everybody! From the photos, it looks as though the page is ripped, but it's just a trick of the shadow. Below is a fella flipping through the book and at 1:05 you can see the page in question.
  3. Hey gang, I'm wondering if anybody might be able to help me out with this. I recently bought a copy of FF 52 (Finally!) and found on one page, the top portion of the page came loose from the staple. The bottom of the page is still attached to the bottom staple. In the pictures below, you can see the page sticking out from the cover unless I manually place it properly. I'm just wondering how much this will affect the overall grade/condition of the book. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!
  4. I have a similar question to this. I just got a book and found on one page, the top portion of the page came loose from the staple. The bottom of the page is still attached to the bottom staple. I'm just wondering how much this will affect the overall grade/condition of the book. Thanks!
  5. You're right, getting the grader notes is a smart way to go. Thank you!
  6. Here's my ticket! I bought this book about 11 years ago for around $1k! I only wish I bought more of em. I've also got 180 and 182 in the ol' long box. But seeing as this is an older CGC case, think I should get it pressed and regraded? I don't know much about grading, so I'm curious if it's worth giving a shot for hopes it returns a 9.2, perhaps. Thanks!
  7. Holy cow! some crazy collections in here. I just got a CGC 8.0 myself. Wish I was lucky enough to snag the 30 cent variant for a dollar each like some of you.
  8. Hi Drotto, Thanks a bunch for your input on this as it's been a big help. As for the book, the box they shipped it in, was one of those flimsy Amazon boxes with absolutely zero protection to the corners of the book, whatsoever! And the book's dimensions where probably a quarter inch smaller than the interior of the box, so it was jammed in there pretty good. Some people just lack common sense, I think. I went back and analyzed the original listing photo and there was definitely no damage to the upper corner, the way there is now. So it was for sure damaged by shipping. He didn't even have the sense to write "fragile" anywhere on the package either. Also, I was able to contact Brittany McManus and she really put me at ease with the situation and assured she would handle it herself. So she's being a real rockstar for me here! But a big thanks to this thread or I wouldn't have known what to do. This is my first time sending into CGC, so it's all a learning experience. Thanks again, guys!
  9. Awesome, thanks! I'll definitely make sure it's packed properly this time around. I really don't wanna have to return to the seller, so I'm hoping this might work out.
  10. Thanks, I'm really new to the boards here, so this is all good information to me. Really appreciate it.
  11. It's not one of the newer cases, but from the previous design. The case has a massive hole in the upper left corner, which caused a huge crack in the whole upper portion of the case. Also, the broken pieces have fallin inside of the case. When the seller did his listing, he only provided images of the front and not the back (which is where all the damage is), so there's something fishy about that. So the real annoying thing is, since this is a Signature Series, it puts the whole autograph in question. Would I be able to send into CGC and just get it re-slabbed? Or would they give me a green label since it's now hard to prove the signatures authenticity? Any help on this would be awesome. Thanks!!!
  12. I was finally able to snag my holy grail of owning a Giant-Size X-Men 1 (CGC 7.0 Signature Series with Stan Lee). Problem is, when it arrived in the mail, the case was all cracked and seriously looks as though it's been tampered with. The book looks more like a 5.5 in my opinion. Buyers beware of purchasing off eBay, even with if the seller has nothing but positive reviews, make sure to do your diligence.
