this thread needs a #6
My copy of issue 6 is colored a little difference than this one. If you look at the brick, it is grey where Spidey and the Lizard are fighting and is tannish to the outside, and the grey runs from top to bottom. The grey on mine is just a little square going from the "E" in the word The and going across to the letter "M" in Comics (across the bottom) and going up to just above Spider-Man's head. I assumed it was meant as some kind of highlight effect, but looks like there is some printing variation at work.
Anyone else notice this before?

Ok, ASM 97 is my all-time favorite Spider-Man cover. Classic. I think it's elegance is in it's simplistic aprroach. I wouldn't even put the one circle on it.
Now, ASM 98, I can never get over the fact that Spider-Man is drawn incorrectly and Kane's goblin glider always looks like the wings are backward.

Here's one you don't see every day. Only scan I have of any of my books right now.
I would drink an ocean of Satan's urine to have that.
What is it?
This is the All Detergent Give Away of Amazing Spider-Man 184. It is fairly tough to find. This copy doesn't have the sticker , as it was peeled off, like all the other copies I have seen.

Thanks Reggie. Coming from you, someone who has been there, done it and owns the entire set that means a lot
I tried to scan my issue # 6, but the fortress it is in wouldn't fit on the scanner. If this thread keeps going, I'll get off my lazy butt and scan something.

Other than the McFarlane stuff that I bought off the stands as a kid, here is my entire Spidey collection.
Nothing wrong with this lot. Excellent.

I'm collecting every single ASM ever published including variants, reprints and annuals. All in NM or there about. VF or better on the 1-100 issues although my grade ranges change a little depending on the next purchase, everything has to be high grade and very presentable. Here are a few books i have scanned in already.
Matt, Love that 34 , 45 and 119. Nice set of books.

Joe,
I've been tracking the ASM 35 cent variants for about two years and I agree that the 169 is the rarest of the five, or at least the one that doesn't appear as often. I've talked to Cosmic Spider-Man and he thinks they are all about the same.

Speficially they were talking about a 30-cent variant Hulk 202. Thus the sidebar on worth.
I thought Beyonder already had a nice 30-cent variant (he posted a scan awhile back), and was looking for a regular NM copy?
i admit, shamefully, that i don't know what copies of what Beyonder has. thus the request of a pm to inquire about his interest or lack of same
Hey, no problem. Your just looking out for another forumite.

Yea, your right. I remember that thread too.

Plus I don't want to ask $200 for a $20 book, nor do I want to sell a $200 book for $20. Add to that, the minute anything sells, I have instant sellers remorse.....
Uh, we're talking about Hulk 202 here, right?

I could actually believe that.

Yes, Metarog. My thoughts exactly.
Is the Overstreet an average price, median price, or just a price they thought the book might bring?
My point being, a lot of these 30 and 35 centers bring more than the Overstreet lists. So if the e-bay prices are factored in, and the price they list is an average, or even a median, some one is getting a heck of a deal at the shows.

How about the 35 centers?

Not sure on that one, but mine is definitely a square (i.e. not fading or tanning).
