Tell us your dirty little comics secrets. I'll start...
Conali replied to DavidTheDavid's topic in Comics General
Here’s one: When I was first getting into the hobby, I was reading the forums about most wanted comics. A couple boardies mentioned they wanted a “Mask #1”. You can probably guess what I was thinking, and why it confused me… -

Is a purple label really the end of the world?
Conali replied to mephistopheles's topic in Comics General
But that’s really the problem. I know that if I buy a PLOD or a GLOD I’m severely restricting my ability (well, my children’s ability, I’m not selling anything!!) simply because of the color of the label. A lot of potential buyers and sellers are handcuffed by the color blue, and it’s a real shame. I would absolutely (and have done so) buy a blue label with “marker on the cover”, or paint on the spine, glue, pieces missing, etc. But I can’t buy a green or purple because most think Blue = good, everything else = bad. Mention the words “Color Touch” and it’s radioactive to such a large portion of the community that would otherwise be interested in the book at lower grade and blue label. Why not just downgrade the book for the “restoration damage” and be done with it. You’d get a lot of really nice lower grade books to boot!
