Ok. I’m gonna be laying out some detective work… this is definitely a scam. So this same book last traded at Heritage in 2016. See link:

    https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-nm-94-off-white-pages/a/7124-91113.s?gck=1efb56b5-27c9-4eb8-9435-c94c59cfe789&utm_source=GoCollect&utm_medium=Growth_Partner&utm_campaign=Sponsored_Listing&utm_term=Amazing+Fantasy+%2315&utm_content=7124-91113

in that HA listing you will see the back cover has writing in the bottom that is “461”. Pic here:

This eBay listing just pulled a different picture of a back cover with the same old label as it is clearly a different book because it does not have that “461”.

As I said, already a lot of red flags but I think we can safely conclude this is not a legit listing.

The scammer aimed really high with that 9.4 as it was so easy to identify the book given how few copies there are… that’s all folks.

Good detective work.  I threw a bid earlier and seller reached out to me willing to sell outside Ebay for 50k lmao

Now that is interesting - that sale is NOT showing up in GPA.    And Heritage usually has their sales up in GPA in less than 48 hours.    I was recently an underbidder on a Heritage book and offered the chance to buy when winner backed out - when I didn't buy the book was removed from their sales history for a future auction.    That would imply this sale did go through.

Anyone have an idea why this is not in GPA?

It actually does show up in gpa but as a non verified Stan sig

AF15 CGC 6.5 cream to off-white pages went for 96k the page quality matters in the SA much more than the GA when it comes to cream pages of any type. Personally I would never buy a SA book with that paper quality to many options for better quality out there but I did for rarer DC SA books I needed.

I think a lot of buyers feel the same same (hence the low 96k winning bid) but great buy for the top bidder owning AF15 in any grade is a great accomplishment.

Paying close to 6 figures for a book, page quality def counts.  A 6.5 last month in comicconnect broke 110k that had ow to w pages

Well pulled mine (CGC 6.5) off from CL will be a member for a few more years till things pick up again. Not selling it at these prices simply not worth it. I rather hold on. One thing I have learned over the decades another high will come.

Now if more people thought like you, we wouldn't have these drastic price decreases for AF15

With the sale of a 4.5 CR/OW on Heritage last night for $43.2k combined with the 5.0 above - decided to look at sales of 2.5 thru 5.0 since January.   I did a similar chart for FF #1 in the "Are Prices Climbing.." thread.

We all have to also understand that there are several variables to consider with the declining prices.  The copies thus far on the downward spiral have been all with chipping, staining and tape.  They are not the most eye appealing copies.  Curious to see if there is a big price decline for a copy that presents well for its grade
