shrug.
I still think it is using a comic character for a gimmicky laugh. Like fat Thor.
Perhaps I need to "lighten up Francis"
Not at all. I hated fat Thor too. Just pointing out that Twitter "post credits" thing isn't in the movie.
MCU movies seem to be hit and miss with humor. Usually too much. Thought this one had the right balance (of course being Spidey he'll always weigh in on the side of more comedy).

the end credits scene.
It isn't funny to me. But neither is fat Thor.
You know that's not the end credit scene right? There are 2 and they actually matter to the story in a big way.

Still have my high grade run of 1-40. Bought new off the shelf so whatever happens I'm not losing anything. #1 will always be a key book even if it halves in value.

Thought it was great. Much better than the first one and better than Captain Marvel or Endgame. Just the right balance between action, plot and humour and most of the jokes worked. Mysterio was very well done.
My only criticisms are the same as the first one. Mainly the supporting cast being so far removed from their comic counterparts. If they didn't use the comic names I would be fine with it because movie Ned, MJ and May are great characters, just not the comic versions. Flash is totally miscast. Also again having Peter rely on Iron Man's tech - sigh. He's a genuis, maybe not Reed Richards or Tony Stark level but having all the suits being "given" to him takes something away from the character.
2 big post credits scenes you need to stay for.

Do you guys think that Marvel will use the comic costumes when they go into the MCU? It's been one of the most frustrating things that Fox never had them in costume.

What I didn't understand
SpoilerWhat was the point of having Quicksilver get hurt in the first act? And then missing from the rest of the film apart from one tiny scene at the end? Evan Peters has been one of the highlights of the "young X-Men".

Looks like I'm in the minority, but.... Very enjoyable to me, A-. Now that was Phoenix. Miles better than Godzilla, IMO, which put me to sleep with every human appearance.
Very entertaining for an X-MEN/Phoenix fan, IMO.
Full theater and I clapped along with others at the ending.
Mystique finally gone. Excellent early move.
Dazzler!
Power of Phoenix showcased.
Lots of great action and human moments, IMO.
Just really liked seeing this version of Dark Phoenix.
They sort of mixed Hellfilre Club with Shiar, IMO. The final scene where she told Jessica C., you want to see
Power? I"ll show it to you, brought back memories of Mastermind and Hellfire Club ending.
Can't wait to see them bring her into MCU. Had doubts about Sophie, but I think she did pretty well as Dark Phoenix here.
As far fetched as the space scene might have been, at least they made an effort to somewhat mirror the original material.
Agree with all that. I really don't get the hate. I'll miss Fox's darker movies for the family friendly MCU.

Many of them on Fleabay. I can see why they won't grade 'em.
All the eBay ones are sealed in the bags.

If you are carrying 6 figure books, sure. But for most people I would not want to carry that around all day for the average comic haul.

Are these being revealed at the show this weekend?
Didn't ask. Marvel maybe. It's a painted proto. DC one no, just a render so probably NYCC.

The Lobo is pretty stunning. Even better than that?
Never been a fan of Lobo but that is an amazing statue. It's not crazy like Sanity was. Had to keep quiet about that for a year. More that they captured the character, pose and the artist who drew him perfectly. One last tease. It's based on a particular artists work.

Either way I don't see this platform lasting much longer. It's too small a niche for such a big market. Taking on Netflix, Amazon and Hulu (never mind the smaller ones like CBS) and with the likes of Disney and Apple entering later in the year is crazy. Worse still they are doing it without their big hitters Batman and Superman which is like going into a fight with one hand tied behind your back. Titans? Doom Patrol? Swamp Thing? Most people have never heard of these guys. Besides it's not like there is a shortage of comic book shows on the air or even DC shows on other networks.
It should have been a whole Warner Brothers streaming service like Disney are doing.

1/6 or 1/4?
haha It's Marvel so 1/4.
But since you mentioned it there is one of the most stunning 1/6 DC statues coming too. I've passed on all of those so far but will grab that one.

I read that it was to do with state tax breaks. NC promised them $40m but really meant $14m.

Saw the painted version of an XM piece of a character people have been waiting for forever

There is a line in Dark Phoenix where this is referenced. They won't change the name. The name is 60 years old and has huge brand recognition. At least i hope not.

Sorry, but what pretentious c-rap and a rip off. You can get a really good backpack that's similar for only 30 or 40 bucks.
No need to apologise to me! Maybe to Jim Lee if he reads your post. Then again he’s laughing all the way to the bank based on the sales already

Jim Lee was wearing a Seiko 6105 diver. But I digress. How much are they? Kinda fast forwarded through it cause the music was super-*@#
It's all on the right column. Different prices for different options. The one I wanted was $135 + shipping. Seriously considered it but just too expensive.

The bad press for this film is likely hurting the reviews. It has so many strikes against it even without seeing the film, that arevdifdicult to overcome.
1. Well publicized reshoots.
2. Reported bad screenings.
3. A cast the has come across as phoning it in.
4. Fox left over film
5. Pending Disney reboot
6. Retread story being Dark Pheonix was done partial and badly in Last Stand.
7. Bland trailers
Even if the film is actually amazing that is a lot of bad press to overcome.
All great points. Shame really because it was so much better than I imagined due to all the above.

Went to my 3 LCS yesterday afternoon. All sold out in the morning. One is the biggest shop in the UK and would have ordered 100+ copies on an average issue of WD (not knowing it was the last issue). Usually they will put a limit on a book like this but it must have been a feeding frenzy. Even saw non comic collectors coming in off the street asking for it.
