  1. These look really good for collectors who go to shows/LCS https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hexandjimlee/hex-x-jim-lee-the-first-backpacks-for-artists-and-collectors?ref=834854&token=87a2ee09
  2. Saw X-Men. I was expecting a disaster but I liked it. I can happily say it is not what the critics are making it out to be. It's not a faithful adaptation of the comics by any means but the story was engaging, the acting was good, the action was great and the score was incredible. Also it was very dark. I would put it somewhere in the middle for the series as a whole. Leaps and bounds better than "Apocalypse".
  3. Starting with the October con and in full swing by next year the LSCC guys who are board members will be running the comics section is it should improve 10-fold
  4. I'm pretty much only ever here for PMs these days but I find it hilarious that over 13 years after i joined people are still arguing about pressing
  5. I remember watching an interview with the design studio a couple of years after it was released. They showed concept ideas that they showed Fox. Basically it was Deadpool in the comics costume but Fox kept rejecting it and wanted to mute the merc with the mouth! I don't think it was Reynolds. I mean if he was in costume they could have just dubbed dialogue. Still a really fun movie. Loved the casting, especially for Sabretooth and Gambit. Great action scenes, soundtrack, etc but like Bosco said the last act is what ruined it. The opening showing Wolverine and Sabretooth fighting in all the wars was incredible.
  6. Yeah he did an interview in EW where he said he wasn't happy. Bit of a baby. I mean he made it to the penultimate episode. https://ew.com/tv/2019/05/12/game-of-thrones-varys-interview/
  7. Well I loved Origins Wolverine. It's my guilty pleasure. Fox screwed up Deadpool. And i know you liked it too, unless you changed your mind since
  8. Not true. Benioff had some impressive credits. 25th Hour (book and movie), Troy and Kite Runner. Hate on D&D all you want but without them there would be no GoT. They convinced GRRM to do the show then managed to get HBO to produce it. GRRM has said before they came along he had a few offers for 2 hour movies telling Jon Snow's story or Daenery's story, leaving out the rest and of course all watered down PG13. 99% of the people who signed that petition would have never heard of ASOIAF if not for D&D.
  9. Well the show may be finished but they are working on 4 or 5 spinoffs so HBO don't want the brand tarnished. Regardless It's just not realistic to remake a season of a TV show. It's never been done before let alone one that cost something like $100m or more. Neither do i think 1.5m is sizeable when it gets over 20 million viewers in the US, let alone worldwide. I appreciate some people didn't like it. I was unhappy with the second half of the last episode. It's just not going to change though. The best you can hope for is GRRM's books being different, if they ever come out.
  10. I watched the documentry. It's really sad when people spend 2 seconds to sign a petition to remake season 8 when you see the blood, sweat and tears the thousands of people put into it over 2 years. Most are behind the camera or extras and get no plaudits. They spent 7 months building a set of Kings Landing for goodness sake!
  11. Those 2 are toxic. You should see some of the stuff they have said over the years. Horrible people, especially Linda. Sadly the page listing everything has been taken down.
  12. Well they rule over 7 kingdoms, or 6 + the Riverlands now. There are 5 large cities in Westeros and many towns. King's Landing is just one of them. Agree about how KL was up and running in a matter of weeks though. In fact i hated everything about that small council scene. Going to watch it again this evening. Hard to process everything at 4am.
  13. Stolen joke. "Jamie Lannister's Kingslayer level is so high, he tried to kill the King (Bran),10 years ago"
  14. Anyway I was disapointed with the finale. The first 1/3 was great but was unhappy with the direction it went afterwards. That small council scene was like an SNL skit. Did not like the character resolutions and had hoped for one last twist at the end. Still though, the journey is more important than the destination. 72 and 1/3 episodes were almost perfect.
  15. That might be because a death of a character in a final episode does not hold as much emontional weight as it would if it happened earlier. Live or die you will never see them again anyway but if a favourite character is written out during the run of a show and you no longer get to see that character it leaves you wanting more. Or you could just be a simpleton
  16. Anyone notice Jon did to Daenerys exactly the same thing that the Night's Watch did to him for what both believed to be justied reasons. Then Jon came back to life. Daenerys is taken away and not seen again. The show may be over but the story doesn't end there, at least not in our minds.
  17. In one episode Tyrion remarks that dragons are thought to be as smart as humans. He was well read.
  18. She was crowned queen by the North, the Vale and Dorne. During the war of the 5 kings, there were literally 5 kings. A better way to phrase it would be "how many occupants of the Iron Throne did Varys serve".
  19. Did anyone notice question 24? It asks How many kings and queens of Westeros did Lord Varys serve? They say 4 (Aerys Targaryen, Robert Baratheon, Joffrey and Tommen) but I say 5 because Daenerys too.
