  1. Hi, while counting the pages of "Batman: Collected Legends of the Dark Knight" I found out that #33 of the original series is missing a page. Page 04 of the book is the left side of a double pager and the right side is missing. The trade does have the right side included. The page numbers in the standard comic book do not show, as in other books from DC, that something is missing. The page numbers in the Trade were replaced so that the numbers are continuous through the whole book. So, if you want to be complete with this series, you need a copy of the reprint. I checked the internet if this information can be found somewhere else but came up with nothing. If you find this information elsewhere then please post the link here. Have fun ! Bye, Archi
  2. @piper: Thank you for this idea ! I wrote him an e-Mail yesterday, let's see if he responds.
  3. Each time I read a posting from Qalyar, I find it informative and to the point. Thank you, Qalyar, for that, and for the time you spend posting the information. I appreciate that. I tried to find out who the editor is of the Phantom Stranger Omnibus, but all the pages I found on the internet didn't include this information. If anybody of you has an idea how to find out who edits the book, I would be glad to hear it. If nobody has, I will take an old Golden Age Omnibus and check who edited the book and hope I will be able to find contact information about this editor so that I can ask him about a picture of the ashcan. Thanks, Archi
  4. I already knew about this ashcan, but thank you for bringing it into the discussion. DC had five names secured in 1952 according to my notes: Unfortunately I disagree with Heritage, that the Phantom Stranger Ashcan is out of the collector market. As far as I can remember, and please correct me if I'm wrong, DC had to create more than one copy to secure the name.
  5. I meant the ashcan for the 1952-53 "1st series". Sorry for not being precise here !
  6. Yes, please check these forums. As soon as you have a name, I will tweet them. Thanks !
  7. Good idea. So that means the possibility for this one is almost zero, too. But if I learned one thing since I started collecting DCs in 1981, it's that you always have to expect the unexpected with DC:
  8. Hi everybody, DC announced that in 2023 we will get an Omnibus Edition of the Phantom Stranger. Now I wonder if they will include a photo of the Phantom Stranger Ashcan, which is - according to my notes - the only Ashcan Edition where we so far never saw a picture of the cover. That shouldn't be too difficult for DC, since they only need to get into their DC Vault, take a picture of the book and include it into the Omnibus. Does anyone of you know if a picture of the Ashcan is included in the book ? If not, does anybody know who is editing the book and how I can ask the editor if such a picture can be included ? Thanks in advance, Archi
  9. Hi ! For quite some time I was looking for an article from a magazine. Last week I found a seller on eBay who offers the magazine. Since shipping to my place is almost unpayable, buying the magazine was out of question. So I asked the seller if it was possible to take some pictures, not knowing if the article was one page or ten pages long. Even if I was not able to make myself clear the first time and he had to do it twice, he came through and sent me pictures of the complete article. Not accepting money from my side, I tried to find another way to reward him and thought to inform you guys about this seller. So if you find something you want from his offers, be sure that he's one of the good guys: https://www.ebay.com/str/mainmencollectibles Bye, Archi
  10. Hi, I decided to put up a list with all the books I'd like to part with. Hardcovers, Softcovers, complete series, incomplete series or single issues. I listed them here: http://dc-archiv.bplaced.net/us.htm Shipping costs will be only what the post offices demands. Shipping will be secure and careful. The books are located in Germany, but everybody is welcome to me no matter where you live. Bye, Archi
  11. Yes, I thought as much but I did not want to assume anything since I'm planning on selling the issues. Before I posted this topic, I did an exhaustive search for images of signatures from everyone in the credits but most were not to be found. Signatures can be all over the place, sometimes looking nothing like the actual name, while other times, (in cases like this) they can be from actors, video game programmers, etc. who really had nothing to do with the comic itself. Thanks for your help.
  12. Hi Qalyar ! Thank you for your response. Your answer matches with what I have found out about the 1997 edition. Always good to get some kind of confirmation about ones own work. So let's see if someone else has information about a possible 1995 version or can tell me if the available information about the 2000 version on the internet can be confirmed ? Best regards to all ! Archi
  13. Hi all, I came across this signature on two of my Mortal Kombat X comics, #'s 3 & 4 and have no idea who it's from. I've tried to compare the issues' credits with existing images of signatures online. I know sometimes talent can have variations of their signatures but so far, no matches. It's most likely from a member of the creative team so here's a list of the issues' credits: ARTISTS Juan Albarran Oclair Albert Veronica Gandini Ruy Jose Joe Prado Ivan Reis Rod Reis Kyle Ritter Daniel Sampere Dexter Soy Saida Temofonte Igor Vitorino WRITER Shawn Kittelsen EDITORS Alex Antone Bob Harras Any help you can provide would be most helpful. Thank you. Archi
  14. Hello everybody ! For over fifteen years now I try to create a list of all of DC Comics' giveaways, custom comics, previews, promotional books, inserts, etc., meaning comics which were not released through normal distribution channels. Some collectors have been kind enough to share their data with me so I have been able to cross-check and verify their data with mine. However, a few mysteries remain since I do not have enough data, or have conflicting data. One such example of this is the Warner Edition Mini Comic of Detective Comics #373. I have this mini comic listed as being published in 1997 together with a VHS tape. Another collector, who is an expert on promotional books, has a copy listed in his notes as being published in 1995. Unfortunately he sold all of his books a few years ago and is not collecting anymore, so he can no longer verify that information. Yet another collector, who is very meticulous with dates, puts the published year for this mini comic at 2000. I have emailed him twice asking if he could tell me more but so far he has not responded. So here I am going public with my quest for answers, hoping that some collectors out there know more about this (and future) issue(s). My question here is: Was this Warner Edition Mini Comic of Detective Comics #373 released in different years or are there different printings that exist? This wouldn't be the first time that DC released the same promotional comic in different years. So far, the examples I have seen show nothing in the indicias. What do you know ? Best regards, Archi
  15. I still hope to see a picture of the Phantom Stranger ashcan someday. But I have to thank Moondog for all the information I got from him about this book !
  16. As far as I know, there are seven different ones of these Comic Calvacade books.
  17. Jerry Siegel did at first a whole other approach on his "Superboy". His very first -script shows Superboy more as a prankster than a "good" boy. The -script does still exist. I really would love to read it.
  18. @K.P.D. That was my initial thought. But I have three copies of Batman vs. The Incredible Hulk, and each of them is a second printing. So I guessed there were only second printings available. Only when I got my Superman and Spider-Man copy and saw "first printing" in the indica I started to wonder.
  19. Thanks, seanfingh ! So there really are two printings of Batman vs. The Incredible Hulk. What about the other ones ?
