I've been wanting to add this one in 9.8 for almost 20 years and finally got the opportunity to do so.

YouTube has been offering me this one for some time. I finally watched it the other day, and now I can't get it out of me head.

I was 13 when the first movie came out, read 'Splinter' when it came out, but wasn't paying attention to Star Wars by 1991. The prequels got me into the Dark Horse comics and then the novels. I do like just about everything else Star wars Zahn has done.

I didn't read the 'Heir to the Empire' trilogy until the 2000's, after working my way through all the novels ahead of it in the (now) so-called 'Legends' timeline. While I dug the Mara Jade character, overall, I was underwhelmed with the trilogy. I think this is partially due to it being a product of its time and partially due to the fact that Timothy Zahn became a much better writer over the years. As such, I wouldn't have been overly excited if they had announced they were doing the trilogy, but in retrospect anything would have been better than the trilogy we did get.

I'm more worried about Deadpool . . .

I grew up on the original trilogy films. The Dark Horse anthology title Star Wars Tales is what got me into comics, and I enjoyed almost all of the Dark Horse stuff. Favorites include the Tales of The Jedi books (thousands of years before the movies) and the main Star Wars series which was renamed Star Wars Republic after 45 issues (prequel era - and yes, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed that era in comics and novels - they served to flesh things out quite nicely). The Darth Vader stuff is great, and I'd also recommend Knights of the Old Republic, Empire, Dark Times and Legacy. I don't concern myself with what is canon much, as canon contradicts itself in some cases. I view most of the comics (and novels) as "What If?" stories. Marvel's Darth Vader stuff is really good, and I've enjoyed their main Star Wars title too. Doctor Aphra, as mentioned above, is a bit uneven at times but still worth reading. I wholeheartedly agree with the recommendation above to check out the animated Clone Wars and Rebels shows. Both start off a bit slow but hit their stride pretty quickly. At their best, they are the best Star Wars there is in my opinion (and that includes the original trilogy films).

I finally watched this Saturday and was surprised at how good it was. It's great to see it win so many awards and Michelle and Jamie Lee were both long overdue.

Ha, I haven't watched it yet despite having Disney+, but I too have the OCD thing making me continue to buy the Best Buy Steelbooks despite my dissatisfaction with most of the films from Phase IV.

I did read a few of the early novels from the sequel era but really only enjoyed Bloodline. The last two films killed any interest I had in the characters and overall storyline - if I cared about those things, I would give Resistance another shot. I took to all the Clone Wars shows very quickly and had enjoyed the comics and novels from that era also. I took me some time to warm up to Rebels, but I stuck with it, and it did become really good after a while. At their best, Clone Wars and Rebels are the best Star Wars material there is in my opinion.

I didn't make it halfway through the first episode of Resistance, and I've since decided that the entire First Order era is dead to me . . . no comics, no novels, nothing.

I know there's a discussion thread regarding posting issues, but I can't find it. A number of people have commented about writing a reply and having it disappear when they hit "submit reply". It just happened to me, and ctrl+z (i.e., undo) restored the edit window and recovered my lost text.

The world population has increased about 15% since 2011 also. Box office of $2 Billion is still absurdly huge today, but there is no good metric for comparing movies released 15 years apart - even "bums in seats" is flawed due to population increases over time. I wonder how much of any $2 Billion film is due to repeat viewers also, especially if the number is achieved primarily due to "good legs" rather than a huge take the first couple weeks.

I'm really looking forward to images of this one. I guess I lack clarity regarding the grading of books with double covers. It seems odd that the book received an overall grade of 9.4 with the first cover graded at 7.0. Sensation Comics #2 Double Cover (DC, 1942) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. Not only is this the single highest CGC-graded copy of the second issue, but it's also a double cover copy! This was the first appearance of Etta Candy, and the Second appearances of Wildcat, Black Pirate, Mr. Terrific, and Gay Ghost. The scary skyscraper Wonder Woman cover is by H. G. I've used USPS for more than 95% of my shipping over the past few decades, and I've had more issues with UPS and Fedex than with USPS.

Is it generally the same countries driving the international results, or does it vary wildly from one movie to the next?

Ah yes, 2005 . . . the first time I enjoyed an Angelina Jolie performance. At this point it seems unlikely that there will be a second . . . 2005 was also the last time I set foot in a movie theatre. I saw Revenge Of The Sith more times at the theatre than any movie besides repeated late night viewings of Pink Floyd's Live At Pompeii and Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same back in the 1980's.

I have little regard for critic's opinions. There are far too many critics these days, many allow their political views to slant their reviews and some seem to exist solely to support their political views. I don't have time or enough of an interest to seek out reviewers I think I can trust. Critics and moviegoers alike are prone to interpreting "not to my taste" as "bad movie". On the plus side, I have seen a few people in this forum whose tastes align reasonably well with my own, so their opinions may push me towards or away from something I'm on the fence about. Is "anti-Captain Marvel" bias truly a thing, or is that doublespeak for "anti-Brie Larson"? I was totally unaware of any controversy regarding her leading up Captain Marvel until I read it here. I went and checked out some of the things that were talked about here for myself and decided that, given the context, people were overreacting. I do believe that Captain Marvel did $1B+ because Marvel propped it up by its placement and by overstating the film's importance to the Infinity Saga, but I also think it's a good movie. I have it solidly middle of the MCU pack (now that most of Phase IV fills out the bottom end). I've seen it probably four times now. I sometimes watch Infinity War, Guardians or Winter Soldier singly, but aside from that I generally run through Phases I - III over the course of, well, however long it takes. Box office generally means diddley-squat to me because older films have no representation due to increases in ticket prices and population. A statistic showing number of tickets sold versus number of people on the planet when the film was released would be far more interesting to me. Interesting comment above regarding "turd" and "Avatar Number Two" . . .

Similar issues affect millions of workers in this country, in virtually every industry. At least these VFX people have access to sympathetic ears to help raise awareness and forge improvements.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about getting the same grade. If it comes back as a CGC 5.5 or 6.0 it's still worth more than a competitor's 6.5, and there's at least a small chance that it comes back a 7.0. It's worth the risk unless it's restored, trimmed or obviously overgraded.
