  1. 4.0, due to a length wide colour breaking crease
  2. that's because 9.8 is the highest grade attainable before taking manufacturing defects into account. In terms of wear, it is the perfect grade, since it has none (by definition). And there you go.
  3. But I was hoping you'd buy my low grade Doctor Solar comics, now who will I sell them off to? As or Charlton, there's good money in there on the Ditko properties.
  4. We don't know. Just keep an eye out for CGC announcements, they've been doing lots of in house signings.
  5. It comes down to what service you want since CGC doesn't do what other companies may. In terms of grading, CGC is at least as good as CBCS, if not better (though to be dead honest, they are basically on par). In the mid grade range, books graded by either company goes for about the same. But if you are thinking of sending books you are hoping to get a 9.8 back, so much higher grades, to then sell then go for CGC. Just because they've been around longer and its easier for buyers to pay the premium that comes with a 9.8 when it's in a CGC holder. If you have a comic that is already autographed and you really want it graded, then go with CBCS. That's pretty much it, no use discussing other grading companies when it comes to comics.
  6. Some modern books have some serious spine issues in production. I remember some DC books a around the new 52 era being especially bad. If an issue is deemed to be a production error by those grading, then a 9 8 is obtainable. Like how amazing spider-man 361 could be 9.8 and still have a really obvious rip on the cover. Same thing happened here. Best thing to do now for you would be to look at other examples of that book being sold.
  7. Modern age books are already valuable. Several modern books (keys) are already doing as well or better than a ton of silver age books (non keys). But as is the case with every era, if there is no demand then the book won't be valuable. You can still get silver age books for 5$. So it's not really the era that determines value, it's the demand for the book.
  8. I don't mind the idea of it as a bonus, I find it fun too. And I like that I am buying things I love and I see my money being turned into the nice comics I now have rather than just being thrown away. I guess I should have written "Personally, I find that buying comics ONLY to invest takes the fun out of it." But I figured that was implied.
  9. I really don't see how any arguing about one year changes anything. The general idea is that some books can be as good an investment as the S&P or better. And some books can be terrible investments, especially compared to the S&P. So having some good books (AF15, why not?) in one's portfolio of total assets could be worthwhile for an extra diversification. Beyond that, I don't see any arguing. Personally, I find that buying comics to invest takes the fun out of it. But you do you.
  10. Easiest way to get a general sense is the Price Guide. https://www.amazon.com/Overstreet-Comic-Book-Price-Guide/dp/1603602526/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=comic+price+guide&qid=1611589622&sr=8-1
  11. I know of older works, they come up online, only wondering about pages from the past 10 years.
  12. I always wondered why Greg Land would get all the flack for swiping from pictures but Adam Hughes doesn't. They do the same thing: Here's Adam Hughe's Catwoman And here's Greg Land's Pamela Anderson Emma Frost But seriously, shouldn't Audrey Hepburn's estate get some money for her likeness?
  13. The thing with FF 5 is that out of all of these, it has the most room to grow and unlike DD 1, there is less of it out there. So as people are still finding it relatively affordable, there is greater demand, and it's more limited supply means the price will rise faster than others until it reaches that point where it's too expensive for many.
  14. I think most of us are considering it. I know I am. And Disney did announce a Fantastic Four movie, so things seem to be lining up.
  15. Thanks for the reply. Since he inks his own work lately I guess we won't see any of the newer stuff available. Too bad.
  16. That's my limit too. While it may seem small to some, it's rather doable and I really like the idea of finding a piece I adore without breaking the bank.
  17. My main theme is Batman confrontations. So him vs Ras, Joker, Clayface ect. Not a big collection, since those pieces are not cheap. But fun. Plus I have character specific sketchbook collections.
