  1. The cover has sort of a horror/western crossover akin to Kid Colt’s werewolf.
  2. I feel strongly that Chumley is more than appropriate here.
  3. It would never even occur to me to not check out and pay immediately after I had every item I wanted in my cart.
  4. To avoid confusion, images of Harley are courtesy of Flee-Marquette.
  5. Homage covers are cool, but I don't this this one adds much to the original.
  6. Its funny how these things work out, hmmm?
  7. I got exactly what I wanted. Yard work in the morning and making dinner after 7:00. No wait, that's not what I wanted... My son got me a Groot card and Black Panther/Sabbath t-shirt.
  8. Journey Into Mystery #14. FR, cover detached at top staple, still attached but weak at the bottom. $65.
  9. This will be a small sales thread; one and done. Sales details are as follows: I can ship up to 3-4 books in the Priority Envelope for $6.70; boxed a little higher and at cost (around at $8-$10). As usual, drop the if you'd like the book in the thread or via PM. In the event more than one person would like it, the first by timestamp gets it regardless whether via PM or in the thread. Payment is expected within 7 days of invoice; payment accepted via PayPal; checks (if I know you) or postal money orders are fine, too. And of course, if you're not happy, return it for your money back.
  10. I have a feeling this is going to be the new normal. Yesterday I was unable to get to an item I bid on and lost. I eventually manged to pull it up by pasting the item number in place of an item number for a listing I won, but even that was hinky.
  11. Shifting gears, I’ve been re-reading my ASMs and just got to #38 this weekend. I know this is considered to be a rather blah issue, but it was kind of sad; the end of an era. While Ditko seemed to put as much into the story as any other issue, it spots the art looked a bit rushed. He was stricken from the letters page, too; instead of "Dear Stan and Steve” every letter was addressed to "Dear Stan.” Another interesting item is that in the house ad for upcoming comics, the cover of FF #52 is obscured by a blurb. I imagine that’s because the original was re-drawn and the new version wasn’t ready at press time.
  12. I have to wonder if all these listing conversions performed by eeebay that various folks here have mentioned have anything to do with seller status, volume of listings and/or total sales revenue. I’ve yet to have this happen with any of my listings. It seems odd that they would just be doing this randomly.
  13. This thread should answer your questions:
  14. Didn't I just answer this in another thread ? How many threads with the same question do you have open ? I see 3.
  15. Harwich Port and Falmouth are pretty far apart, especially with Cape Cod summer traffic. If the Falmouth store is the one I’m thinking of, it’s nice but no great shakes for a selection of Bronze and Silver. According to the website they’re now stocking back issues, but there was nothing to speak of when I went.
  16. I think this is mine, though I can't recall if I replaced it with another since I made the scan.
  17. I have lots of books that are too sentimental to part with. I have some early ASMs that my dad bought for me, as well as some beater books he brought home from a construction site; various books from a Christmas stocking in 1975, as well as the majority of my original collection, even those that have been upgraded. Besides those there’s also these adult-purchased books. The FF94 came from an ebay auction of board icon Nik when he was still with us. I have a Conan 24 he gave me; he’d bought it online and found the grading to be sub-par to put it mildly. (No scan handy.) I also have a real nice Captain America #100 he was in the process of buying but passed along to me when I expressed regret for not moving faster on it. He was one of the most generous people I’ve ever met.
