  1. Check out those cuticles. Jeff could start a sideline as a hand model.
  2. The amount you paid or the GPA data is beside the point. Ebay shows sold listings for 90 days. Here are all the sales it is showing for an ASM #1 CGC 3.0. Something is odd because none of them are the book you showed in your post: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-1-CGC-3-0-Marvel-1963-1st-J-Jonah-Jameson-Chameleon-More-/202299393664?hash=item2f19fbc680%3Ag%3AlXcAAOSwQRla4jvV&nma=true&si=dJPNLwYkrGFira6WlQ4P2sVHbtE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-1-CGC-3-0-ow-w-pages-/142666044523?hash=item21378f146b%3Ag%3AFx8AAOSwndZaZ32r&nma=true&si=dJPNLwYkrGFira6WlQ4P2sVHbtE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-1-CGC-3-0-Universal-Grade-1963-Off-White-to-White-Pages-/263477348261?hash=item3d587947a5%3Ag%3Ae%7EcAAOSwXf1aW38u&nma=true&si=dJPNLwYkrGFira6WlQ4P2sVHbtE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 If it was an ebay sale, I'm wondering who the seller was? I am probably one of many folks here who wouldn't want to make a purchase from somebody who packages their books this way.
  3. If you have the tracking number and use the number to track the package on USPS.com, it shows you the method of shipment (Media Mail, First Class, Priority, etc.) That said, something seems amiss here. Ebay only shows 3 slabbed 3.0s that have sold, 2 in February, and 1 in April, and none of them are your copy. Are you sure you bought it on ebay and not Facebook or some other venue?
  4. He never struck me as a “regular”. I recognized his avatar, but I don’t recall him posting all that much even when he was active.
  5. Those are pretty much my thoughts as well, except I enjoyed the jokes and had no issues with their delivery. It was too downbeat and dark for my tastes and though my family enjoyed it, I don’t think any of us were expecting it to be so heavy. I also thought it was too long and too full of fighting. I liked it okay, but it’s definitely not my favorite Marvel movie.
  6. Not to be a person_too_unaware_of_social_graces, but the Mods made it known in no uncertain terms that gif was not to be posted anymore. It would be a shame if this thread gets poofed.
  7. Here's a few more lower end copies I got at another local show a few weeks back. My first Homer!
  8. Just conjecture on my part. I don’t consider him an A-list inker but thought this looks even sub-par for him. Might just be a rush job though.
  9. I can’t say for certain but it sure looks like a lightbox job to me. I’d go as far to say a pretty poor one at that. Almost looks as is somebody copied a Theakston lightbox job. There’s a lot that looks off, above and beyond the the type of issues that crop up in late period Kirby when his eyesight and health were faltering.
  10. I was a member. Your first issue of the magazine came in the Hulk envelope with those other items (stickers, membership card, poster). A subscription was good for 4 issues IIRC.
  11. Joe Maneely with classic Stan Goldberg sunburst coloring.
  12. This is just a guess, but the person we see from the back looks like Joe’s son Mark to me. And he’s the person who usually helps out Joe at shows. The FF #48 doesn’t look right to me, but the best comparison would be with a scan of the actual book, not a reprint as somebody posted. A lot of those modern reprints are several generations removed from the original stats even, and the line quality is often degraded. Speaking of Mark Sinnott, unless someone else is handling it now, he’s the person who answers Joe’s email. Somebody could always drop him a line to ask what the story is regarding Joe not signing it.
  13. I wore a light jacket; the line getting in took about 20 mins. Kept it on inside and was comfortable all day; I left about 2:00. I didn’t buy much, not flush with mad money at the moment, but there were tons of great books. There were two copies of TOS #1 and TTA #1 in the room; Ted has his usual great wall display and Terry’s had tons of HTF books packed into a small area. I was surprised to see Filter set up (with typical fancy Filter books). Dave and Adam's were there, as was the legendary Jim Payette along with smaller local sellers. I’d like to see a show like this quarterly or bi-annually.
  14. Here's a Battle beater that hasn't been posted yet. I picked it up for cheap a few weeks ago at a local show.
  15. Yeah well turn it back on for a moment, that's your sig line I copied in the first post of this thread. Make me! Two beers into our next lunch and you'll be dancing on the table iffin I tell you to. If that's your idea of a Gentleman's Lunch, I'll stick with The Glass Slipper.
  16. Why is this thread languishing! Here's a pickup from a few weeks ago. Low grade, but it presents okay for a beater and was cheap.
  17. Just like the original Smith before his character changed. He was a spy sent to sabotage the mission and destroy the ship once it was in orbit but was trapped on board before liftoff. For the first handful of episodes, his plan was to kill the Robinsons, programming the robot to eliminate any of them when caught alone and the opportunity arose.
  18. It's not that kind of show. Article in the Salem News gives an outline: http://www.salemnews.com/news/lifestyles/fantastic-five-beverly-comic-con-continues-to-grow-in-popularity/article_4345110d-2b7a-57f3-803c-ffb75107309d.html
  19. Didn’t realize this was based on the video game. My son has been talking about it for weeks. Funnily enough, even though he’s a young, modern-day gamer, he enjoys playing Rampage at our local restaurant arcade. (They have a battery of vintage games and pinball for .25 a pop.)
