  1. Sorry to interject, but this has been driving me crazy and it's important to get details like this correct for posterity. It's DUPCAK. Not "Dupchak." there's no "h" in there. Carry on.
  2. Maybe someday when I'm retired I'll set all mine up again. They take up a good amount of space. As a kid I never knew the Allosaurus didn't initially get base, and didn't understand why one was pictured on the maps from '72 on.
  3. LOVED those kits and was thrilled and amazed when they came out.
  4. I'll be the person_too_unaware_of_social_graces who can't limit himself to 3 books, which is a surprise because I haven't been buying a whole lot. But when I looked over my 2023 purchases I realized I picked up some books I really liked. Nothing is super high-grade or rare, but as a run collector it can be tough to find decent mid-grade copies of certain books. I still need a few more to finish off my TTA run, but #44 is the last "big" one and #42 is a nice copy of an early Ant-Man. Mystery Tales #6 isn't a classic PCH cover, but I've always been outbid. The cover story stuck with me since reading the Tomb of Darkness reprint as a kid. Finally, a lower grade Four Color #596, AKA Turok #1, completing my Dell portion of the run.
  5. Unless this is a book you've owned for a long time and want to slab for sentimental reasons, you may be better served by putting your funds towards a higher graded or already slabbed copy. Unless you have something rare or valuable, slabbing low to mid-grade '60s or '70s run-filler books often isn't very economical. Although DD #43 has a semi-classic Kirby cover and is higher demand than surrounding issues, Daredevil in general doesn't have many sought-after issues. The 12 month average sale priced for a CGC 6.0 is $73, 90 day average $67 and most recent sale $40. For a CGC 4.5 you're looking at 12 month avg, $50, 90 day avg. $35 and most recent sale $35. I don't know what you have in the book, but with grading and shipping costs it's not a route I would take.
  6. Here's my most recent pickups, a Moebius Mummy reissue and a Prehistoric Scenes '71 Neanderthal Man. My original Neanderthal Man was nicely painted by my mom and I want to keep it as is. I'll need to strip some off of this guy who's partially painted.
  7. There was a Pyro Stegosaurus model that was molded in purple, I forgot to mention him. Those guys were smaller and all in different scales.
  8. I keep watching and debating buying it but yes very expensive Current prices for that book are seller-on-crack insane. I'd like one myself, but I'll wait until a reasonable copy comes across my path. Speaking of crazy prices, the majority of asking prices for the Moebius repops are also nuts. So far I've been able to pick up the ones I want on my cheapskate budget by being patient. I still have my originals (except for Vampirella ) but I prefer using reissues for building and painting. The Giant Insect was never released in the US. Maybe you're thinking of of of the MPC Gigantics kits? Anyways, after Nabisco pulled the plug on the series, remaining inventory was sent to Canada along with 3 kits that didn't get released here, Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (these were later reissued as Monsters of the Movies kits) and the Giant Insect. The Victim was renamed Dr. Deadly's Daughter.
  9. I think you mean Styracosaurus. Aurora never made a Stegosaurus, although Dave Cockrum designed one and a prototype was scuplted but never released. I think it was in the '90s someone produced a resin kit based on the design.
  10. Well, if you're getting all goofy with these modern books, how about a She-Hulk #8? Sort of a Ploog-style Man-Thing.
  11. Thanks for the likes on the #26, those spine tics drive me crazy! It's one of those issues I haven't gotten around to upgrading. Luke looks kind of scared on the cover of #27. It's not particularly becoming a super-hero.
  12. All I see is Maneely and that's also who's credited with pencils and inks. I can't recall any instances where one inked the other.
  13. Yup. It was one of the top stories for days in a row, heavily covered. The Tea Party story was more towards the end of the broadcasts I saw.
  14. Asking this goes against my better judgement, but it what was it if not a protest against British oppression?
  15. I've actually seen it on the local news several times the last few days, there's going to be a reenactment today. When I did a Google search, pretty much all of the local news outlets came up along with some national news stories.
  16. Did he actually pay yet? He sounds like a bit of a yahoo. $60 reduction isn't good enough but $70 is?
  17. Here's my latest, a reissue of The Forgotten Prisoner of Castle-Mare. I was compelled to use the glow parts because that's how I built my original. I had a bit of assembly trouble but overall I mostly think it came out okay.
