  1. What are you basing this on? The CGC census shows 196 PLOD copies of ASM #50 but 273 of ASM #300. And that only takes into account books that have been slabbed. There's always going to be someone trying to doctor a high-value book regardless of when it was printed.
  2. I would recommend a full and complete refund, and would use the money to buy a slabbed, unrestored copy from a reputable source.
  3. Previous sales data does not look promising to support 10k. An extensive professionally restored 7.5 sold last year for $2649. Restored 8.0s look to be fetching around $3000-$3500, and 9.0s in the $7000-$7500 ballpark. Who was the seller?
  4. That bottom quarter is pretty toasty, which is what you'd expect from a book that has been getting hit from a light source like the sun over time.
  5. It's a sun fade on the exposed portion of the book. Different colors fade at different rates; red is first, blue is the last to go. A printing error would result in a loss of red across the entire cover.
  6. The first Bag and Board Wars on the new boards!
  7. Tx! I'm happy with it, bought locally. Nice lower-mid grade copies of the mid to late 50s fantasy books are fine with me.
  8. Looks like a 4.0 before, maybe a 4.5 after. A press might make it a bit more aesthetically pleasing, but it’s not going to do anything for all the color breaking creases at the corners and spine. Are the staples showing rust on the back cover? Can’t tell if it's just soiling. The edges look a bit toasty, too. I have to wonder if the cost of a press & shipping wouldn’t have been better spent on a slightly nicer copy.
  9. That's a tall order without a straight on shot of the front and back; a scan would be best.
  10. Hard to believe from issue 10 they went for a whole 13 issues before putting another gorilla on the cover. Although I tend to be Marvel-centric, I do like me some Turok.
  11. The OP had posted it a few times but now appears to have removed it.
  12. Here's an old Lange's VF-. Boy, I miss those days.
  13. Here's a few of mine. Decent mid-grade #1 I can live with:
  14. I don’t think it would be successful, since the majority of comic buyers are older and want modern, dark and/or complex “adult” stories now. Myself - if they still made those kinds of books I might even buy them. The closest thing we have to them today would be the various animated universes: Batman, The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, etc. Those are shows that I enjoy, my young son enjoys and my wife enjoys. People like Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, Man of Action and all the other writers and artists did an amazing job bringing old-style stories to life in the modern age; it’s too bad we can’t have comics in the same mold.
  15. I think I only need 9 more issues to complete the run. Nothing tough, just been on the back burner. Unfortunately, #10 is one of the books I need. I've only read a handful so far, been mostly waiting to finish the run before reading it in order.
  16. The level of intense animosity that some Voldemort fans have towards CGC never ceases to amaze me. I know there’s people here who think the reverse, that Voldy is junk, but even the most vociferous don’t approach the level of rabid rhetoric reached by certain cee bee see ess boosters.
