  1. Since we have a guideline against spam bumping one's own sales thread, thereby bumping other more recent threads off the page, why is it okay for a group of boneheads to bump a closed thread with graemlin nonsense?
  2. And you think he already doesn't know you're a perv? Kids are pretty perceptive you know.
  3. It's a rare instance where I can tolerate edge-length ink, and especially that kind. Can somebody confirm that this type is ink signifies the book is to be returned/destroyed, as opposed to the smaller "bars" of blue, green, yellow, etc. distributor ink that signify what month a book is to be removed from a rack?
  4. I believe that's right. Is there a tear over the "v" in Marvel, or is that on the slab?
  5. Wow. I have never seen a 7.5 that wasn't a Golden Age book before. Oh Snapareno You cold hearted Redneck Called for the graders notes today and all they had down was some staining on the BC. The only staining on the BC is distributor ink. You got Haspelized! Doesn't quite have the ring of The Haspel Hammer.
  6. I say nay as well and I'm just a buyer. (Disclaimer: I did start 2 sales threads in the 2.5 years I've been here.) I agree with cd4ever, outlawing it is a bit extreme. And furthermore, there's lot a room for improvement in other areas.
  7. Joey - You know why it got hammered? Looks better than 7.5 from the scan.
  8. Sounds like user error. Probably something wrong with the data in the jpg file. Did you use a specific program to save the file, or is this direct from your scanner? Like Sal said, undoubtedly a case of OF. I've always had trouble attaching files from my Mac to a post, so I just upload to Photobucket.
  9. Humungous thanks to HighVoltage, Heinlein99 and DCEng for recent purchases and fast hassle-free payment!
  10. Very nice books. (thumbs u Where's the turds?
  11. That's incorrect information. A thread can only be "locked" by the moderators. Locking a thread prevents any further posting within the thread. From the FAQ: "Users can edit their own posts up to 4320 minutes after they are made." That's 3 days in normalspeak. If 3 days have past, rather than start yet another thread with books that haven't sold, you still still post in the thread, you just can't change posts older than 3 days. You can add to the thread by saying something akin to "The following books are still available..." Flaming Telepath has managed many successful sales threads using this methodology.
  12. I'm tired of pizzing in the wind pointing out The Guidelines when they're ignored, but I have to say it's powerful annoying when people - especially long-time boardies - decide the Guidelines aren't meant for them, notably #2: "No spamming. Group your for sale items into as few threads as is reasonable. Attempts to take up front page real estate by creating multiple threads for no reason are not allowed."
  13. Yes, but not the covers. The issue in question was either inked or touched up by John Romita and possibly drawn by Ron Wilson. The only original cover in this batch is #7, which is by Bill Everett. It may have been touched up, I don't have a scan of the original handy.
  14. Kudos totofthetotem, blue808 and Foolkiller. Of course. Did you expect less?
  15. A handful of recent buys. I'm using an HP G3010 for those keeping track of scanners. Not big enough for a slab, but suitable for my needs. Free shipping on this one! Not the sharpest QP, and a scuff not visible in the original scan, but nice white pages and a good price! Mmmmm... A minor gink, but a nice copy nontheless: I heart this cover by Tom Sutton:
  16. is right. That's a tough book in grade.
  17. Kudos to BigHulkFan for being a stand-up guy, and to Greggy for being a stand-up guy and to cd4ever for being a stand-up guy and letting me build a stack to save on shipping.
  18. I don’t know what ASBR is, but if it’s gay, it must be one of those new fangled modern comics. I have it on good authority they have a secret homosexual agenda, because the majority of modern comic fans are light in the loafers.
  19. I guess we see what we wanna see. And the Beast is next in line to become the pitcher Then I guess Storm must be wearing a strap-on. You guys are gross. Funny, but gross. For someone who could never, ever even consider being gay, Nik sure talks about it a lot about it.
  20. It's a bit late for a show report, but here's a sampling of books I picked up at the Chelmsford show a few weeks back. I'd been holding off on buying TOS until I'd gotten farther along with some of the other runs I'm working on, but I wound up with about 15 of them. I don't usually upgrade, but King Cheap couldn't pass this one up: Been looking for a nice copy of this one for a while. Despite the writing (on a white cover!) I'm quite happy with it: Finally, a bronze book to mix things up:
