  1. It does not appear trimmed based on that edge. We've had input in this thread from a former CGC employee, a fellow who's worked in the printing business for years, and numerous other folks who've been collecting for decades and/or dealing with high value, high grade CGC books plus someone who often likes to be contrary. (Sorry, Bill.) I'd go with the consensus in this case.
  2. The missus mentioned this show the other night. I didn't know it was based on a funnybook.
  3. Similar theme with some nice covers.
  4. Iceman399 posed the same question and got no response. My guess is there was no response because a situation like that has rarely, if ever, been an issue here.
  5. A tonal shift can be a very effective device, but it was a bit bothersome in Thor since it tended to be a bit clunky. What bothered me the most was the Guns and Roses peppered throughout. It was starting to feel more like a construction site than a superhero movie.
  6. Church ad art was turning up fairly regularly in the weekly Heritage Auctions for a while several years ago. I don't follow OA closely enough to know whether it was all coming from a specific collection. If you search completed auctions you'll find hundreds of pieces. IIRC @Timely has sold some here on the boards, but I might be misremembering.
  7. Avengers 116 VF- Defenders/Silver Surfer crossover $14.00 Strange Tales 153 VF- Jack Kirby art, Jim Steranko cover/art. Printed with 2 sets of staples, one set only on interior pages (production defect). $20.00 Strange Tales 160 VF- Jim Steranko art, Captain America appearance $45.00
  8. Yup, that's pretty much how it stands for me as well. The comedic bits weren't always my cup of tea, but at least it didn't suffer from Dark Knight Syndrome, where everything is serious, dark, brooding, lugubrious, etc. etc. Overall the whole family enjoyed it, which would include Mrs. Pontoon, 15 y.o. Pontoon Jr. and his GF.
  9. AND they managed to crowdfund their trip to SDCC. So despite routinely buying and selling five- and six-figure books, they’re pocketing thousands more from “fans.” Wild. Wait wait wait. When you say "they managed to crowdfund their trip to SDCC," do you mean NerdyGirl comics got their trip crowdfunded? More power to her/them if that's true, but I'll second October's comment at the same time. And to anyone reading, isn't NerdyGirl Filter's partner? Or am I misremembering?

  13. #61 - Yogi Bear. I'm drawing a blank on the name of his girlfriend. Nevermind, I see Yogi is already there. No idea who the knockoff with a hat is.
