  1. Found an old photo. I'll get the 6 scanned tonight.
  2. I need to scan my copy tonight.
  3. Nope, I do not own a single copy of this run. It is on my to do list.
  4. This weekend I will be listing a few Hulk SS books. All Herb Trimpe signature books and Brunner Bronze Age Marvel Horror. IIRC Hulk 168 in 9.2 Hulk 171 in 9.4 Hulk 190 in 9.6 Hulk 193 in 9.6 Plus a few Brunner SS books in 9.2-9.4 grade Chamber of Chills 4 Signature 9.2 OFF-WHITE Vault of Evil Signature 9.2 WHITE Vault of Evil Signature 9.4 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE Fear 15 Signature 9.2 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE Fear 17 Signature 9.4 WHITE
  5. Look for : rusty staples, water stains, any stains, foxing, popped staples and creases in the white areas.
  6. Yes, I believe it is. Given that I've seen 9.2s with both staples rusted, I presumed this was just allowable at this grade level, but it could definitely disqualify it for the 9.4 I alluded to earlier. I rarely see books with only one discolored staple...not sure what kind of storage would even cause that. I would imagine that impacted the grade more than the pre-marvel chipping.
  7. Mike, In my experience it can lower a book a full grade or more depending on the location of the tear and if it is a clean tear (more of a slice than a rip). I had an otherwise NM- Godzilla #1 PV a few years ago. Had a small 1/4 in tear next to the logo on the FC. Came back an 8.0
  8. Clowns clowns make me happy Clowns freak me out.
  9. What a bizarre cover! Whats bizarre about a guy in red speedos, with his ankles and wrists bound in iron biting the head of a cobra? I see that on a regular basis where I live.
  10. Kudos to all the valuable board members that make this place so great. You have made collecting comics fun again.
  11. I mark payment owed every time and I never get a charge PP takes out a small fee if you use Paypal Credit or e-check. If you are using personal and paying with it using a paypal balance you do not get hit with the small fee.
  12. I have a Thor 225 coming back in 9.8 Hulk 160 in 9.8 My Brunner signed Dr. Strange #1 is a 9.6 And some other Drek.
  13. I don't think it's a scam either, I think that Paypal has added that option to protect themselves from being regulated as a bank. However, when I see someone insist on Personal Paypal, I really do close the thread. I have used the personal option many times, IF I happen to have money in my paypal account and if I know the person, but I prefer that to be an option, I feel uncomfortable being coerced. I feel the same way with people who want 3% if you use Paypal. I've bought that way from C-link, but it's my option, and they are a business, they have bills associated with the sales to pay. In addition, my "protection" comes from my credit card company, and if I'm going to spend more than a few $$ on a book, I'd prefer that I have the OPTION of that protection. Let me give you an example Sharon, I submit books for individuals under my CGC account. If I submit $500 worth of books for someone and they pay me via paypal I now lose money. I am out the 3% or $15 per transaction. If I do this 20 times in a month I am now in the red $300. I always ask for a check. If they cannot pay with a check I ask for the additional 3% or if they decide to use the personal option it is fine. It has it's place, and I feel the main issue here is people abusing that place. If I sell a $500 comic I expect to eat the 3%. I personally am not taking any money out of my pocket, but when a service like submitting books is rendered I do expect the difference to be paid by the customer.
  14. That is true. You need the batter lumpy to make really good pancakes.
  15. You can create bricks with newer books if you use too much heat, water or pressure. The inks and paper used can literally melt together or in some cases fuse to the release paper.
  16. I don't have them back yet but preliminary grades show my Brunner SS Dr. Strange #1 is 9.6 White pages.
  17. How could you go wrong with a workshop that included drilling, layering and shimmies.
