  1. Last time I saw him he was in Anchorage.
  2. That was my approach when things got crazy. I understand the 14 hour days without a break for months on end. But, I never thought to expand, knowing the headaches that come with the expansion of a business. I forged ahead and after 3 years am finally able to catch my breath ( a little). Unfortunately, many small businesses (not just comic related) expanded during the Covid boom only to close shop or lay off most of the staff they trained, who have now become their competitors.
  3. Many here, with years of experience have already proven that.
  4. It could also have color loss from the seal rubbing against the cover. That’s why it’s best to remove it yourself.
  5. Looks like ink to me with a little dirt mixed in. Either way, it will clean up.
  6. This one is interesting due to the badge being taped to the cover. I wonder if CGC would encapsulate it due to that fact. I would ask them.
  7. My guess is it happened post pressing and grading. This shows how little the encapsulation team knows about comics, as anyone with any comic knowledge would have looked to see if the piece was missing or just folded over. Seeing it was folded over, it should have been brought to someone’s attention. The only other reason I can see against this type of service is they have a quota that makes this type of interaction impossible, and have been told to seal em’ and box em’ up as quickly as possible.
  8. I am not sure if they are talking about press only books, or books that have had restoration work done to them. I can only speak for myself, but 2-3 books out of a hundred may need an additional press. It all depends on the amount of work you do before they go into the press.
  9. I don’t know the processes they use, but my experience shows it’s not uncommon for a book here or there to revert back a certain amount with a quick second press being needed.
  10. This is a mis-wrap that cannot be “fixed”. It’s the way the book was manufactured.
