You know, since rusty staples can lead to progressive damage to a book, that should absolutely be noted on labels.  I sure wouldn't pay high grade prices for a high grade slab with rust.

I've passed on many nice books with rusty staples that also show slight rust discoloration migrating on to the paper.  If it's just a very tiny spot of rust I might be able live with that hm, since many silver age books commonly have very small amounts that are imperceivable and hard to detect, even on high grade copies.  Really depends on the severity and degree of spread on the staples...

A truly incredible accomplishment Dave -- something to be proud of for sure!  I too will be very curious to learn what your next collecting goals might be.

It was a pretty good week for my Spidey collection as well ... I was finally able to swing a deal for this beautiful book, upgrading from my 9.0:

With this book, I now have #10 through #100 in 9.4.  I still need to upgrade my 9.0 copies of #7 and #9 to be able to say I have #6 through #100 in 9.4.

That is a truly spectacular copy Sweet Lou!  Don't see that everyday, congrats on the fantastic pick-up! :applause:

While White Page are very nice, I personally don't understand paying extra for something not visible in a slab. I also don't collectors who will pay more for a 9.4w than 9.6 ow/w. To each their own of course and on raw books it does make some sense but again to me not if in a slab. Talking difference between w and ow/w or even ow only , I can understand some collectors not wanting cream or especially brown pages as it may be evidence of improper storage.

Although the page quality is obviously not visible on slabs, "white pages" typically represents the over-all health and excellent storage environment of the book over the years.  I've also found that most White pagers have vibrant cover colors and inks which give them great eye appeal to collectors.  Not to say you can't find that with other page qualities, but I enjoy collecting them and have paid premiums for almost all nice looking White pagers, especially tough to find ones, and have not regretted it at all :takeit:

Well today is the day!  The final piece, ASM#7 has been found, has arrived, and is now in hand completing my linear run of AF15, ASM 1-20, and Annual 1 all in the same grade and page quality (5.0 White Pages).

This project started back in January 2019.  I had already had an ASM1 and ASM14 both in grade 5.0 in my collection.  It was during this month that I upgraded my AF15 from a 4.0 WP to 5.0 WP, which made this entire run a possibility.  From there I set my sights on procuring the original Sinister Six first appearances and Annual 1 all in the same grade and page quality.  I bought the Annual 1 first, a 5.0 WP to match my AF15 and ASM1, and over the next few months picked up the rest of 2, 3, 4, 9, 13 and 15.  I sacrificed some big books in my collection, including an X-Men 1 3.5 WP and DD1 4.5 WP to finance these purchases and make this all happen.  Nothing makes me happier than collecting ASM, so even though it was extremely difficult to part with those big SA keys, I don't regret it, especially with where I sit now.  By November 2019 I had acquired all of the first appearance and crossover keys between AF15/ASM1 and ASM20 (notably 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16.  I thought I was done, but the collecting itch remained to fill in the gaps and make it a complete run from 1-20.  I know the completionists out there will suggest I acquire ST Annual 2, FF Annual 1, TTA 57, and ST 115, but I'm good with keeping this run all within the ASM title, with the exception of AF15 of course.  Two years later, on November 3rd, 2021, while I was sitting in an autobody shop parking lot at 8:30am waiting for my car's state inspection to be done, the final piece, ASM7, popped up on the ebay app on my phone.  I clicked buy it now, finally completing/accomplishing my goal :acclaim:

If you'll all indulge me, in the next few posts I'll do a little countdown from ASM20 to AF15 so you can see all of the books individually.  Thanks to everyone on the boards who kept their eyes peeled and supported me along this journey.

    :tink:

Congrats Dave on this incredible accomplishment, extremely happy for you!!! :applause:(worship)  That is such a beautiful run of books and I've always loved the symmetrical focus of your white page Spidey collection, so impressive and difficult to attain!!  Can't stop looking at all those great issues.  Took a lot of sacrifice and determination but well worth the effort.  Now we'll need to find your next collecting goal once you're ready to get back to it, after a well deserved break

It was also kind of nuts that that new guy had to go to such lengths to explain his simple misunderstanding, which had a perfectly logical explanation. You leapt up like a dog in heat to condemn that dude and willingly (some would say happily) gave your personal info to Dupcak, a scammer of the type you supposedly spent years catching, yet one of the biggest, most notorious, and most obvious went right by you. You trust that scammer and convicted criminal more with any personal info than you do any member here.

That makes no sense, James. None whatsoever. There's only way it all makes sense, and it's made even clearer by you running away from any solution to the conundrum that is this situation.

Excellent points. Curious if moderators have the ability to track IP addresses? If they can tie JJJ with Danny, then we're all done here hm

I gave you a method to do it without providing your eBay ID.  You still have not addressed that.

Nothing but crickets from JJJ regarding this.  He's still thinking up excuses why it won't work and will get back to us later.

I have no idea. I've never tried. I have one forum account. The only one I've ever had. I have one ebay account, the same one I've used since soon after ebay began. I don't send messages to myself. So I have no idea if it can be done because I've never tried.

So why not show the ebay message trail between yourself and Daniel and black out your information as Buzzetta explained to you several pages ago?

I don't know. Were you around when bugabbo used to create an id only to argue with himself?

I must have missed those threads!  Would be difficult for JJJ to create an ebay message trail with time stamp confirmation from the day of the Dazzler #1 inquiry from Daniel.  But I could be wrong.  Would love to see the attempt lol

Thereby providing my ebay ID so the witch hunt can continue on ebay as well, forum members doing their best there on ebay to destroy my ability to buy or sell if I choose to, carpet bombing my messages with hatred and accusations as is being done here? That sounds like it would be great for me, right?. Why wouldn't anyone who isn't a complete airhead do otherwise? Bulletproof plan. Expose my 20+ year Ebay account, a flawless one, to widespread mischief. Sounds like a reasonable request, Kav.

Buzzetta gave you a solution to that a few pages ago :gossip:
