I don't believe watchcount shows the actual offer price accepted ... only what it was originally listed for. eBay doesn't disclose the final agreed upon sale price, whether it's Best Offer or an internal Offer through Buy It Now. One of the things that eBay does to give the perception that market values are much higher than they actually are.

it's a little confusing but Joe Heller -1 is mostly right. Watchcount doesn't show it but it does send you to ebay where the actual sale price is shown

Finally my date has changed to "Received 2-6".....just as they told me yesterday that the books were finally back from CCS.  I'm OK with the time frame, it's just me being impatient (and it's got worse as I see so many others with their books back a week or 2 ago).

But finally the end is in sight!

what was your initial received date

I understand that they're prized possessions, and its a lot of money, but I guess I liken it ordering food at a restaurant, they tell you the app is gonna take 10 minutes, and the main 25 minutes, and when the app comes out it 4 minutes and the table next to you gets served mains in 8 minutes, you're asking the waiter for updates on your main at 11 minutes and 15 minutes.  Then the waiter takes 3 minutes to ask the chef about it, who gives an estimate that is plus or minus 5 minutes, then the waiter gets back to you three minutes later after asking the chef.  A lot of the estimate can be lost in the translation.

And yes, its possible they forgot your order and/or messed it up, which sucks, but I would say since they at least have a record of your order, you're in reasonable shape with expectation that things will be done reasonably correct in a reasonable time.  And if they haven't gone significantly over the originally agreed upon times, then I guess I personally wouldn't be put out by it.

I would also say this:  The original signing was scheduled for a certain date.  CGC almost certainly planned some logistics of transporting and staffing (both for CGC and CCS) in anticipation of signing during those original dates.  Those dates then changed, through no fault of CGC, and CGC was forced to change their logistical plans.  The odds are that some of the anticipated efficiencies were lost as a result of the change.

That's just how I see it.  But I also understand the desire to commiserate on the internet with like-minded individuals who feel (rightfully or wrongfully) aggrieved or annoyed.  Not that CGC doesn't deserve criticism or doesn't have improvements to make, they do.

I would agree with your analogy if in this restaurant there were a board at the front that supposedly showed the status of each order and that status doesn't change after you see many others getting their meals. Simply having the board invites heightened anticipation. Either have a current, informative, regularly updated board, or don't have one at all.

But to your point, many of us, myself included, have acknowledged that we're a bit neurotic about this.

I understand waiting isn't fun, but I'm having a little trouble understanding the complaint?  From my understanding the LAST books Todd signed were on January 15.  Wouldn't three weeks for expedited pressing still put us squarely in the 'press window'?  And then another three weeks potentially grade and mail out?  I admit their system isn't always as updated as possible, and their communication could probably be better (although this is a VERY special signing with a lot of '1st time' stuff).  Just because SOME of the books exceeded expectations you guys are mad that all of the books didn't?  Seems like an odd flex.

Shouldn't the the window be from the first sig to the last? If so, I think that could put us on the tail end of the window for many books.

But I think the complaint, though, which I share, is precisely the lack of communication. To say the system isn't always as updated as possible and their communication would probably be better are pretty significant understatements. You have people trying to divine the status of their subs based on seemingly random updates or notifications about charges to their credit cards. People shouldn't have to resort to crystal balls and witchcraft to figure out what's going on with their books other than that they've been received. In fact, I think the uniqueness of this signing would be a reason to be more communicative, not less.

    Ok

ASM 315 = 9.4 (Qualified, was signed by Michelinie before subbing). Ok with that, it's been mine since I bought from Time Warp Comics in Boulder

    Coyote 11 = 9.4. A little bummed this didn't come out higher.

Spawn 300 (McFarlane / Capullo variant) = 9.8 (Qualified, signed by Capullo, Snyder, Opena, and Alexander before subbing). Stoked about this one.

Just opened my box. "T. McFarlane" on ASM and Coyote (silver) and "Todd" in black on Spawn. Before hearing everyone else make an issue about "T." vs. "Todd", I would not have cared but now I'm a little bummed. Lol. FOMO, I guess.

The fact that they were signed on my birthday 1/20 makes up for it.

The date on my 12/6 Received books updated to 1/27 yesterday, and this morning status updated from 'Received' to 'Scheduled for Grading'. (My Declared Value never changed, so I guess my estimates were good enough.)

Interestingly one set of mine went from Received to Scheduled for Grading (and now Grading / QA) without updating the Received date.

    Grader notes say:

bend left bottom of back cover
finger bends left center of back cover
moderate spine stress lines breaks color
    multiple staple rusted spine

if these were on the 9.2 before it was graded, I’m shocked this many errors got a 9.2. If they occurred during the cracking, well, I guess we’ll never know. Either way I lost $175 in value just by submitting this to Todd.

This, coupled with the dude for whom CGC mixed up a 9.4 and 9.8, confirms a lot of suspicion / reluctance I previously had about any grading agency

My Mcfarlane books arrived today and what should have been a joyous occasion has severely depressed me to say the least. I sent in two books, Spawn 1 and ASM 300. The Spawn is my personal copy that I’ve read dozens of times and has been in my long box for years. That came back 9.6. My ASM was a slabbed and graded CGC copy I bought off eBay. I bought a 9.2, it came back to me...7.5 :censored:

I am so sick and mad right now. I wanted a nice copy for my personal collection now I can’t even throw it back on eBay and get it out of my sight without a catastrophic loss. Oh well, congrats to everyone else on their successes.

The ASM300 sounds like a win. Is there any indication what the basis for the Spawn 1 is? Either way, as a bunch of folks have mentioned, there will be a TON of Spawn 1s on ebay soon, if not already so they should be relative bargains.

    Hey Guys,

I just got my books back today, and I think CGC f'd up.  I had sent in two Spawn #1, and they got graded 9.4 and 9.8.  However upon inspection, I think they got SWAPPED.  The 9.4 looks like a 9.8, and the 9.8 looks like a 9.4.  Check out these pics:

The top left corner on the 9.4 is sharp and black, while the same corner on the 9.8 is not sharp and losing some colour.  The top right corners are not bad.

The bottom left corner of the 9.8 is tattered, whereas the 9.4 corner is again SHARP.  Similar on the bottom right corner, the 9.4 corner is sharper and cleaner than the 9.8

The back side of the spine has obvious differences as well.  The 9.8 spine is not white, whereas the 9.4 spine is clearly white.

    What should I do??

Cgc should appreciate your honesty. Some folks would've probably kept the one graded 9.8 and sent the other back for regrading, ending up with two 9.8s
