  1. It's a fairly small, nice signature on a upper mid-grade book - there's no reason why this wouldn't be in a blue label holder  How about they typically put unwitnessed signature books in green labels?
  2. big signature on the outside and the book looks like a 7.0 Thanks for the replies, everyone!
  3. Any idea why this book isn't in a green label holder? http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8891839#Post8891839
  4. Oh my God, Gotham is going to be so pissed at me! Somebody delete my post!!!
  5. I can't believe you could have been nearly anything, and you chose that stooped name.
  6. Can't agree more. Dan is a great guy to deal with, both buying and selling. Honest and trustworthy...everything you'd want when working with someone in a deal. Glad to see you posting more, Dan-O! Andy
  7. And have part of the job interview include shipping skills.
  8. Contingent dealers involve a promise of some kind from the buyer. For example, a buyer who signs a contract for a house or car contingent on financing is in no position to back out if the bank comes through. Buying something contingent on back cover scans is another matter because the opinion of the buyer (and not a matter of fact) is the contingency. If the seller provides the scans, the buyer can arbitrarily decide to back out because they just don't like the look of it. Even if the back cover was flawless the seller is in no position to force the buyer to follow through with the sale. Just because a clever buyer tricks a seller into making a promise for nothing in return does not mean that an agreement has been reached. The contingent buyer has no skin in the game. Tell me more about this "contract law" it sounds fascinating. It's like that thing with the paper, and the words and uhm like documented terms or something right? Maybe it's just anything a seller wants it to be. A magical wonder land of one-way commerce. Now you've got the nipps attention Oh my.
  9. Wrong thread, you meant to post this in the Modern/Action Figure Thread I contemplated it... I believe you.
  10. Is it the price or the look that you object to? I don't mind the look at all. In fact, because I don't have it, I kind of like it.
  11. Good luck with the signatures. Make sure you shake his hand and show your appreciation. Sadly, as time goes by, we are less and less fortunate to have these opportunities. (thumbs u
  12. GIC 80 GIC 87 AAMOW 94 there are easily another hundred that could qualify.
  13. One set for me. The B&W luke is still me off.
  14. Thank you, Adam Strange!! And thanks tricolorbrian for posting. (thumbs u
  15. I think you mean GIC 87. As I recall, it was excluded on purpose for consideration, since one of the prior cover contests (that wasn't exclusive to just Heath covers) had already placed it at (or near) the top. But maybe I am not recalling this correctly .... Andy? Actually, because I had run a few war cover contests previously, and GIC 80, 87, and AAMOW 94 had been retired, due to their constant 1-2-3 placements. However, in this particular contest, we were looking for Russ Heath's best covers. It wouldn't be fair to exclude those, so they were all candidates right from the start. In the end, GIC didn't make the top 10. Now, I would say that it is probably my personal favorite, followed by AAMOW 94, but this contest doesn't just takes votes on people's favorite choices. This contest asks for viewers at home to vote for their least favorite, and the books with the most votes against them, get voted off. It's similar to the TV show "Survivor". This method may not get you the same results as polling everyone for their favorite cover, but I like the process and it is still fun. Do I feel GIC should be in the top 10? Absolutely! But, by chance, it didn't happen this time. ...opening the contest to Heath covers from ALL genres made a significant impact on the final results as well. Many of the War enthusiasts see the market through "D.C. colored glasses" and this is understandable, but I was actually surprised at some of the Atlas war efforts that DIDN'T make the top 10. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u There are MANY incredible Atlas war covers by Heath.
