  1. A great goal and a lot of fun to put together! Good luck!
  2. At the Fan Expo in Toronto, I asked Neal Adams to do up a little drawing for me. Mlle. Marie and Unknown Soldier. I just love what he came up with and he really knocked it out of the park, IMHO. Thanks again, Neal!
  3. Never been that keen on the Hellcats issues of OFF, but being a completist they have to be gotten. Never cared that much for the dino SSWSs but in recent years I've grown to like 'em. Either way, completing a Big 5 set in decent shape is a huge undertaking. I never cared for the dinos, either, but after picking up the thick Showcase collected edition of them, The War That Time Forgot, I realized that they're so bad, they're good.
  4. Jeff bought a nice Spidey off of me. Paid quickly and the deal went very smoothly. Recommended. (thumbs u Andy
  5. I know it won't happen, but I'd love for the mod that yanked that one post an explanation. This very same thing happened in one of another well known boardies threads and the thread was moved, they cleaned up the pictures and the thread went back. Lots of boardies, self included, missed out on books because they simply yanked the thread. Not cool. Not cool at all. The explanation should be pretty easy to figure out. There was nudity on the cover of over 30 of the comics listed for sale. Blame the OP, not the mods. (thumbs u
  6. I would accept the book back and call this a learning lesson. Going forward, you have to think about how you will want to deal with this sort of thing. If you put in your listings, "I am not responsible if the book comes back restored", then your going to have some people avoid buying from you and also some think that you don't know what you're doing. You could guarantee all books that you sell are unrestored, and if, on the very small chance that they come back restored, you'll accept returns with no issues. This will force you to be more diligent when looking over your books. It'll help you learn and train your eye to look for this sort of thing. It will also instill confidence in your potential buyers. These are all good things. (thumbs u
  7. Andy, just got around to reading this year's War Report. You guys did a fantastic job. I'm especially happy to see 2 books I'm very fond of starting to get the recognition they deserve: SSWS 84 - Marie has moved up the ranks and has passed the Dinosaur issue as I expected. I believe her ascent will continue. OAAW 168 - Another classic that will climb higher. I'm looking forward to next year's war report! Please extend by appreciation to your fellow correspondents! John Thanks, John! I really enjoyed it as well. It's something that I look forward to so much every year. Matt Ballesteros and Mick Rabin deserve oodles of credit. Far more than I deserve. Also, we shouldn't forget the help from Richard Evans and Keith Marlow when they first started doing the War Report. Along with Matt and Mick, those guys were the grunts, doing all of the hard work, laying the foundation for years to come, by determining the criteria of a war comic. Can't forget our beloved Shep, Brian Sheppard, who is a deep pool of war comic info. Hi, Shep! As far as the books gaining steam, I think Mlle Marie is still a heck of a buy at today's prices. It'd be nice if DC would do some more Mlle Marie stories. Pair her up with the Unknown Soldier for a few stories, and this little kid would be in heaven. That would be a great storyline. I could see it now: "French Beauty and the Unknown Beast" All you guys do a great job! It's so important to the War Comics genre. A decade from now, many war comic collectors will look back to these times and refer to the War Report. Andy, please see if you and the guys can do something about getting Bob to add OAAW 83 to the SA top 20 list. The Rock belongs there. Thanks again to you and the guys for making war comics history. (thumbs u Believe me, Matt made a great effort to have this done. The numbers support Rock to be in the top 20, it's not just some fanboys that are asking for it. We'll see for next year.

  9. I just picked up a 4.5 copy of G I Combat #1. Been a while since I've owned one and I'm very happy to add it to my reserve.
  10. Wow! I after that video and what you just said, I am starting to be intrigued by the insanity ------------------------------------- Dude, those are some nice Spideys. Are they yours? Rumor is the dentist said those are all color photocopies and photoshopped with CGC slabs. That's why the thumbnails aren't clickable. Yeah.... Amnesiac made the banner for me from the pics I sent him. They are real Make them clickable, then we'll all know for sure.
