Personally, I think either should get a "Gold Star" label if they survived with staples left out. Makes them so much more susceptible to damage (or losing wraps)

Finally shook the last of my RT sketches free from CGC purgatory. This appears to be the only signature copy on the census. As someone who's dabbled in foreign reprints for only a year or 2, I am very impressed someone tracked down copies that graded out at 9.0 (1 copy) & 8.5 (2). Most of what I've seen are pretty trashed.

7.5. If they treat 1 staple like no staples, it will get a Qualified label. Either way, no impact on grade.

2nd this being classic Marvel chipping. I would call this mild to moderate chipping, so I think 7.0/7.5 would be my semi-educated guess. I haven't had much first-hand experience so take those numbers for what they're worth.

I think this can get to 6.5/7.0 with the right work. I'd lean toward the lower option.

4.0/4.5 I suspect someone with the right skill can give this a shot at the higher mark.

I am absolutely stunned with the grade I did not have this one clearing 9.0. I will not believe this isn't an elaborate prank by CGC until the box arrives & I see the slab in hand. I capture the top spot for this book in the signature series & only two 9.6 Universals in the census. I couldn't be happier or more surprised. Yeah, 4.0. Easily could have been a grade higher without the split.

I can't see this getting over a 5.5 b/c of stains.

I think 7.5 for the same corner issue mentioned above. If I am reading your description correctly, this only has one staple? It might get a green label, with an acknowledgement of the production defect. I have a book manufactured without staples with a green label. It would not impact the grade or value, but would be an nice oddity for people who specifically look for this kind of thing.

Max 7.0. The back isn't so pretty. I'd want to know what the inside of the covers look like to be confident

I'm not sure pressing will fix your problems. I would not roll the dice on slabbing this comic. Around 7.5 now, pressing to 9.0 is the most optimistic outcome.
