  1. Last one from Heroes Con (for now). I have looked (unsuccessfully) for years for a high grade copy of Modeling with Millie 44 to send to Roy Thomas. I accidentally stumbled across this one, which appears to be even rarer based on a census of 0. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take this to Roy personally, but my facilitator said he was quite interested b/c he'd never seen a copy of this version before, and he even took a photo for his personal archive.
  2. Another singleton on the signature census. This is tied with the top Universal copy. As a Dali & Steranko fan, I couldn't resist. I believe this is one of Steranko's personal favorite covers.
  3. Oddly, no graded copies of any kind on the census until this one. I got a story from Jim Salicrup about this one too, as he did the cover for issue 98 in his distinct style when he was a teenage office gopher at Marvel. The Marvel bullpen asked Starlin why he did this cover. His response was that someone did a really terrible one with Marvel characters (Salicrup's) & the CR deserved one with good cover art.
  4. 6.0 maybe a grade higher with c/p & GA bump
  5. 4.5/5.0. Stains can't be removed, especially without garnering a restored label. There's enough over stuff going on that it wouldn't matter. Probably you're way ahead regardless since it has a goodwill sticker.
  6. 2.5, maybe a 3.0 if it could stand up to some work & the binding and so forth is relatively sturdy. 3.0 seems like an absolute ceiling with that piece out. Hate it when the important books are too tall to slab.
  7. not sure I can make as assessment, but there are certainly copies of this floating around with repro covers. I'd have an expert examine in-hand if you're suspicious. A good repro can even fool amateur experts. Otherwise, I can see this getting to 7.0 or a grade higher in the right hands.
  8. >9.0. Red foil is the regular edition of this comic. There are in excess of 20K copies of this book that are slabbed. FMV about $100 if it's a 9.8. Down to $60 if it's 9.6. I'd guess it's more probable than not you would be under water on fees grading this. Even if it was for my collection, I'd probably buy graded unless I was getting it signed or something.
  9. Your best bet is to get a copy of their grading book. You can make educated guesses about what a CGC grader will think, but ultimately you're weighting a lot of different defects & trying how to figure out how they add up, or "don't count" b/c of more serious defects. https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/10586/cgc-guide-grading-comics-nelson/
  10. 3.5 is probably the ceiling, not a book to invest more in, but money well spent
