Well I got to take part in my first ever YouTube live auction, Thanks to Jon Bountie73 The first win was an assortment or lot, gaggle, pride,murder

persistence that is the ticket. when i got out of the military I got turned down by Exxon Chemicals 3 times for their 3 person IT phone support ... No degree ... no experience ( all hobby) and I didnt look like and IBM clone . They kept hiring guys with duel degrees ,I believe that one boy had a PH.D It was such a hot seat that they couldn't keep anyone in it longer then a week or two. 3 people supporting 800+ on site and 300+ offsite users convinced the manager to give me a chance on that 3rd interview.. turns out certain previous training NOT to buckle under pressure made me the ideal fit. My cousin Jan had the 1st seat ...so one of our secret joys once we became the golden ones was to walk thru the property in full on cowboy / cowgirl getup while everyone else....... was blue suit red tie white shirt .. more or less and no one would even think about saying something about our boots buckles hats ... sometimes even our spurs and chaps on certain days... damn too much coffee again... POINT is dont quit ... dont give up .. *er* *stay in school and stay off drugs*

I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to post an answer. Hey .wow now there are some great suggestions. lets see now.... I never did excel for a collection but I imagine for something my size it would be better to switch a collection database over to it. and comicbookrealm sounds wonderful and free is always nice but I dont think they have a bar code scanner... going to need it for this many entrees It looks like collectors CLZ is the way for me to go at this first year.... then I can always switch it over the following years . great point about the grading ...If I bring you a blue ball today.. sat it will still be a blue ball But the chance that a grade changes signifies a flawed system at the mercy of an individuals mood, if they are hung over, did their spouse leave them I know these are near blasphemous statements, but what a hypocrite I would be after fighting so long to insure the freedom of speech for me and my country to suddenly censor my own silly Having said that I don't think I know a finer group of people ....and no Jon I have not been drinking

Blob TBH it is more a game since returning to the hobby. At the risk of upsetting the status quo.the groups I trade with have for the most part known each other for 50 years. I am sort of a new kid with most of my relationships only being 20 25 and 30 years I do thank you for taking the time and offering the advice MM my ninja what a beautifully descriptive way to drive a point home. On to happy time.. This week was a little off but here are the books that came down the pipe. This was a fun box to get done

and if you happen to mention its more to make money for the numerous companies out there HELPING YOU . I saw an ad yesterday for a guy who will send you a "customized report" read a combined Go-collect,eBay, comic shop du-jour spread. Now this report will do all the heavy lifting for you and tell you if you should or should not submit that comic for grading. and he hates to do it but because of the tremendous response he is getting ... He must charge you 2.99 a comic for his time and expertice ... SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! I

I never get that . I think it is because at the moment it is in the same room as my sword , knife , gun collection

Thanks guys I do appreciate the input . But having lived that months on end data entry hell many times , I am looking forward to scanning by phone or hand unit[ 8 to 10 K of books and that is still too much. Last time it was 35K . I think it was 2005 or 2006 and my dear Departed mother ,came to help me, It still took the whole summer to finish I Was hoping to hear from someone who has used one of the apps , software packages I talking about. That is a very good point TC . where I might be thinking "potential" was that line in the Overstreet that said: "In rare cases, a comic was not stapled at the bindery and therefore has a missing staple; this is not considered a defect. Any staple can be replaced on books up to Fine, but only vintage staples can be used on books from Very Fine to Near Mint. I was thinking that with a really good clean/press professional that combined with adjusting the staple issue and these might put the book ( bear with me as I mesh old school and new school ) fine- to fine/veryfine- range with 9- 12 defects?? . subjective and with the realm of possibility? Ok so I reached about 2,500 to 3,000 and thought now would be a good time to start my list I have looked all over thinking this has to have been discussed, 25 years ago I used comic collector. if You don't mind can I have an opinion on current products to keep track of your collection Thank you in advance
