Kirby ToS splash at $15.6k, on the low side I thought I saw it on a dealers site a while back but can't remember whose or the asking price.

Not Brand Echh cover at $38.4k, wow, that was a shocker for me.  Nice cover nut I thought it would go a lot lower

Sub-Mariner 36 cover at $16.8k, maybe a little lower than I would have thought.

Kamandi splash at $25.2k, higher than I hoped.  Sadly it won't be residing at my house

1961 Peanuts strip at $33.6k was really high but great content. 

1970 Peanuts strip was okay at $16.8k.  I liked it but didn't love it.  Bowed out at $12k.

 

 

i had the kirby TOS splash on my site for 15k for years...traded it away for less a few years ago.

everything else sold for about right...

large art Marvel covers will ALWAYS sell for a premium.

Theo is an odd fellow for sure. When you discuss his art versus YOUR ART.....His art is worth 10-20 times MORE (also not a typo..LOL) than anything you own.

not sure if this is "always" true... I do agree in general with your post but there are always a few exceptions to that rule.

i owned both the published ASM 82 cover  and the unpublished ASM 82 cover that got lost (was published many years later for the marvel tales version of that issue) but the unpublished asm 82 would easily sell for more than the published asm 82 cover because its just a far superior looking cover.

pub cover is marie severin inked by Romita...

unpub (lost) cover was all Romita.

When i first started buying art at the end of 1989 when i got in the hobby...GRAY MORROW art was a lot higher than most other artists...now his name is barely mentioned in our hobby.

so for me personally i'd say GRAY MORROW art is probably worth less now than in the 1990s..

ON the ASM 97 unpub cover.......Spider-man was all completely drawn under the stat....(just moved 1/4 inch) There is ALSO a bottle with pills falling onto the ground drawn under the drawn empty hand of Harry Osborn under the drawn art

(I had zero knowledge Spider-Man was drawn...) I just had a strong feeling that art would be drawn underneath the stat as i didn't believe in 1971 they would have blank area under the stat and that marvel editors just moved the art hopefully.

I'm glad I was right!

I also bought the Andru ASM 185 cover from Heritage and they listed the Spider-man head as STAT....while that was true...the beautiful  Andru / Esposito Spiderman drawn head was directly under the Romita Spiderman head stat.

I also won in 2018 the Carmine Infantino Spider-Woman #13 Unpublished Cover

They listed the Spider-Woman character on the cover as ALL STAT..... and i bought it and the original drawn Spider-Woman image is directly under the stat,  (just moved over 1/4 inch)

the best one i ever got from heritage was the Large Art Strange Tales #168 cover..... listed as art in layers........ and part stat.....

well......... under the very bottom layer of art was........a completely drawn full size different large art cover image  right under the top layers of art with a completely different Dr Strange cover scene with the space scene also drawn in slightly different poses.....
