I totally get where you are coming from. It was quite devious for someone to do this without your permission.

(I do feel you should have the right to tell them to stop if you don't like this, or they should at least give you some sort of residual...but I've no idea how this could legally be enforced) 

i feel it makes your ORIGINAL DRAWN piece WAY MORE valuable with the more eyes seeing an image of it anywhere!!!

John Romita Sr drew some GREAT Spiderman / Peanuts themed pieces for me years ago.... i'd love to have prints made of those........ and hundreds of other great Romita non published drawings I own........

 if anyone LEGIT wanted to sell them with all proceeds going to a comic artist charity or the APL,  i'd be all for it!!!

Yes.....i did this weird thing......I bought a piece of art from a collector for cash to sell on my website because i felt i could make profit on it.....I put it on my website for sale.........and........It sold!

Just an FYI for everyone.......Every piece i have on my website can be considered a flip of the day, week, month, and year.......... As i purchase and trade art every day pretty much,  in the hopes i can resell it or trade it for profit........If It doesn't sell...... i will try to trade it or sell it at lower value over time to move my inventory depending what it is......If I'm wrong too many times.........I go out of business.........If I'm right more than not.......I stay in business.  

 I urge EVERYONE here  to click on my Romitaman website and look around to find some awesome flips of the day, weeks, and months, to post here again and again.... there are 3500 or so "flips to see....today!"

Nearly every time I'm used in these "flip of the day" threads,  i learn something new about art before I owned it so this is good knowledge and I appreciate it.

and for my dear friend Mr Mike (VOODOO)......I just did another big art deal with Jim Damico this week...I really don't care if he bought his art on ebay for 2 dollars ...or thru CAF.......... or from the artist directly,  as I check those places maybe once every 4 months if that, because my time is valuable

When i do an art deal with Jim or anyone else, its because i feel it was a good deal for me, or i decline the offer, just like i do with hundreds of other collectors who contact me and offer me art in cash or trade deals all the time.

If the art i get sells then I'm happy.....if it doesn't sell over time, that's on me and I then have to figure a way to move it via trade or discount as i truly hate having inventory for sale for long periods of time that isn't primo material.

I don't know Jim's eBay handle nor do I care to look it up (it seems that should be your next quest to share with the group here my good friend Mr Mike (VOODOO)... Since you asked that question previously of this group)

So if anyone reading this goes to my Romitaman website and sees something they like..... but they feel the price is too high.....feel free to make me an offer...I may say i can't do it...but so long as the offer is reasonable and it's something I don't mind parting with,  we can certainly try to figure a deal out we both like.

I do a lot of trading also and so long as i like what I'm getting in trade from you equally or more than what I'm  giving up, i will ALWAYS do an even Steven trade with you to move my inventory.

some in our hobby don't do this and that is their choice for their business......I like to move my inventory AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to keep getting new art to offer collectors!

I feel I'm a pretty reasonable to deal with in our hobby as I have been doing this for 32 years now and love meeting old and new customers alike.

There was a book titled Puma Blues, that had imagery not terribly different from this, in it. I recall there being Satyr busts on columns in there. But I don't recall this piece being in that book specifically.
It may be an entirely new(ish) piece that went totally without publication. Almost looks like maybe dated '06. Well after Puma Blues.

Since his issues on Sandman, Zulli has done a lot of pieces in this vein and sold them to his art fans, without any of it seeing publication that I am aware of. Often very large works (bigger than comic art board size). Generally a few hundred dollars a pop.

I have a nice 2 page spread by Alex Nino  with an end of days type theme with dragons and what looks like the END OF DAYS scene!

The other piece is by Michael Zulli and what looks like its dated 2006 with a Barry Smith homage of a female angel over a fire and crazy devilish tombstone.

At bottom it reads what looks like " BURNING THE GRAVE OF SLAYTONS"

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

Don't argue with an insufficiently_thoughtful_person; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN!

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?

I stopped at 200.  I'd been in the British army for six years from 1972 to 1977 and during that time had a three-year posting in Germany, so pretty much had a period where I didn't really have the opportunity to keep up-to-date with the title.  After my de-mob, I bought-up all the back issues and found that I wasn't terribly excited by what I was reading (or looking at, for some artists).  There was one period where Spidey was driving around in what looked like a Beach Buggy (called, The Spider-Mobile, I think) and I just thought to myself, "Super-Hero types take a big stretch of the imagination, but this is just totally nuts . . .  I guess Stan must have said to the writer of the time, "Beach Buggies are cool, let's give Spidey one to drive around walls on!"  For me, the Ditko run is classic (he created most of the enduring villains and developed all the characters that once established pretty much wrote themselves).  I like the early John Romita Snr Stuff, as illustrations, but it was clear to me that he was just drawing, whereas Ditko was actively involved in the plotting, writing and development.  I get that people here might not necessarily 'get' Ditko, but you gotta recognize that he set the rule-book for what was to follow . . . even if some joker decided to throw-in a Spider-Mobile.

I honestly believe the Spider-Mobile stories in 130-131 (and then finally destroyed i believe in ASM 160) was put into stories to help market and sell the spider-mobile TOY CAR that came out for the megos to sit in.

The HULK TTA 62 pinup in last Heritage was inked by Sol Brodsky and Heritage misidentified that one.

 I can't find it anywhere online...and figured i'd try with the esteemed art collectors here!

It reprints the SCORPION DANCE storyline which originally appeared in 2000 AD 1125-1132

Too nice to be a mistake. Too much history of Jack and the three fingered Hulk for it not to be intentional. The FF12 cover reference points me towards why he looks the way he does in that pinup. 

Hulk has only 4 toes in the small scene where he battles Reed in the pinup!

sal i believe only drew interiors for asm 154-155. and maybe one more late 190's issue i think?

for what its worth..i loved his early 1970s spec pages and his 70s MTU run!
