    I personally would be flattered to no end if people made copies of my original non published art pieces I own and they were good enough to make money from them... (I do feel you should have the right to tell them to stop if you don't like this, or they should at least give you some sort of residual...but I've no idea how this could legally be enforced) i feel it makes your ORIGINAL DRAWN piece WAY MORE valuable with the more eyes seeing an image of it anywhere!!! John Romita Sr drew some GREAT Spiderman / Peanuts themed pieces for me years ago.... i'd love to have prints made of those........ and hundreds of other great Romita non published drawings I own........ if anyone LEGIT wanted to sell them with all proceeds going to a comic artist charity or the APL, i'd be all for it!!!     (I haven't been on here since my last post however long ago that was so I see i need to reply to a few posts) To answer the question posed to me above 8 days ago by Cloddie.......... Yes.....i did this weird thing......I bought a piece of art from a collector for cash to sell on my website because i felt i could make profit on it.....I put it on my website for sale.........and........It sold! Just an FYI for everyone.......Every piece i have on my website can be considered a flip of the day, week, month, and year.......... As i purchase and trade art every day pretty much, in the hopes i can resell it or trade it for profit........If It doesn't sell...... i will try to trade it or sell it at lower value over time to move my inventory depending what it is......If I'm wrong too many times.........I go out of business.........If I'm right more than not.......I stay in business. I urge EVERYONE here to click on my Romitaman website and look around to find some awesome flips of the day, weeks, and months, to post here again and again.... there are 3500 or so "flips to see....today!" click on my website ALL THE TIME FOLKS! Nearly every time I'm used in these "flip of the day" threads, i learn something new about art before I owned it so this is good knowledge and I appreciate it. and for my dear friend Mr Mike (VOODOO)......I just did another big art deal with Jim Damico this week...I really don't care if he bought his art on ebay for 2 dollars ...or thru CAF.......... or from the artist directly, as I check those places maybe once every 4 months if that, because my time is valuable When i do an art deal with Jim or anyone else, its because i feel it was a good deal for me, or i decline the offer, just like i do with hundreds of other collectors who contact me and offer me art in cash or trade deals all the time. If the art i get sells then I'm happy.....if it doesn't sell over time, that's on me and I then have to figure a way to move it via trade or discount as i truly hate having inventory for sale for long periods of time that isn't primo material. I don't know Jim's eBay handle nor do I care to look it up (it seems that should be your next quest to share with the group here my good friend Mr Mike (VOODOO)... Since you asked that question previously of this group) So if anyone reading this goes to my Romitaman website and sees something they like..... but they feel the price is too high.....feel free to make me an offer...I may say i can't do it...but so long as the offer is reasonable and it's something I don't mind parting with, we can certainly try to figure a deal out we both like. I do a lot of trading also and so long as i like what I'm getting in trade from you equally or more than what I'm giving up, i will ALWAYS do an even Steven trade with you to move my inventory. some in our hobby don't do this and that is their choice for their business......I like to move my inventory AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to keep getting new art to offer collectors! I feel I'm a pretty reasonable to deal with in our hobby as I have been doing this for 32 years now and love meeting old and new customers alike. Mike

    i owned the entire asm 37 book in 1993..i sold that page for 500-600 i think, in 1993, with 18 other pages to ASM 37 in a CBG ad in 1993...LOL

    Its all good..The comment above makes me feel like i'm back in 1989-1995 or so with being the ONLY guy in the hobby actively collecting that JOHN ROMITA guy who has zero style andonly draws..... "THE MARVEL WAY" I loved hearing that back then as i ceremoniously bought all of his art I could afford!

    I have a nice 2 page spread by Alex Nino with an end of days type theme with dragons and what looks like the END OF DAYS scene! The other piece is by Michael Zulli and what looks like its dated 2006 with a Barry Smith homage of a female angel over a fire and crazy devilish tombstone. At bottom it reads what looks like " BURNING THE GRAVE OF SLAYTONS" any help is appreciated! Mike

    I honestly believe the Spider-Mobile stories in 130-131 (and then finally destroyed i believe in ASM 160) was put into stories to help market and sell the spider-mobile TOY CAR that came out for the megos to sit in.

    HEY....A post i can really enjoy chatting about!! LOL i'm going from memory on everything i write so i may be off on a few issues i'm listing...LOL 1. John Romita Sr..."Most" art collectors under 60 and over say 48 will agree with me here..all my art buddies over 60 have Ditko first..and i get it! and i love this man personally like a father so he is always #1 for me!2. Steve Ditko - without him, the Amazing Spider-man comic might have turned into daredevil in sales if a different artist drew it!!!! Ditko was PERFECT FOR ASM!3. Gil Kane...arguably the BEST at setting up pages.I didnt care for Giacoia's inking KANE on asm 96-105 (thankfully Romita redrew a lot of heads in the drug issues) Spidey always had an "EGG" head with no visible nose or ears protruding in mask when Giacoia inked Spidey in asm and MTU, But Romita inking Kane (asm 89-92, 96-98 some, 120-124) was WOWZA.....beyond AMAZING!!! 4. John Buscema....ASM 76-81,84-85 As good as Romita in absolute detail and perfection he put into every page he drew! Mooney's great inks kept the conformity also between JB and JR, AND JRJR)5. Jim Mooney (him inking ASM 65,67-88 minus 1 issue or so i think, and even him inking POLLARD and Romita Jr on a LOT of books from 188-241 i think were dynamic! This later 70s and early 80s run was superb!6. Kieth Pollard. He had a short run on ASM but i truly feel he is the most under rated ASM artist ever...His ASM pages from 188-203 or so are simply breath taking to behold in person..his ASM 200 pages (inked by mooney) are all masterpieces!7. Ron Frenz...like Keith Pollard...his art was AMAZING...he adapted to the Steve Ditko Look early on in ASM in the 250s early 260s....and even the Romita look later. A truly great ASM artist..... and an even better person!8. John Romita Jr (1ST ASM RUN ONLY (ASM 204-250) Mooney's / Milgroms inks were superb on 1st run pages. I never cared for his "newer" style from late 80s DD run & 90s ASM onward (he got Frank miller-ized I always say. LOL)9. Todd McFarlane..... love his style.....Absolute amazing trend setter and really should be #3 on my list for what he has historically done for SPIDERMAN! ...But since i don't collect his art i kept him here....LOL10. Ross Andru...... I have to keep him in my top 10...as a kid he was the guy on ASM when i collected comics! I have to confess....I always hated his Spidey eyes... He always drew spider-man's eyes way too low on the mask, as Spidey's eyes where drawn where the cheeks would be under the mask and that always bothered me.....LOL...I always wondered as a kid, why spider-man INSIDE THE BOOK didn't look "cool" like the covers (that romita drew..LOL) I never knew back then that different artists would draw covers and interiors... but hey.......that was Ross Andru's personal style and i'm good with it now!
