  1. Avengers 8 is such a goofy cover Am I the only one that sees a villain standing behind a wall of those candy buttons on paper whenever I see the book give me ish #23 any day
  2. maybe he/she is making a thread for every one of Kang's different personas
  3. I am no expert but I will say this the 67 looks a bit off what I have seen of JRS's signatures is he is pretty darn great at placement of said signature .... unless that specific area of 67 was taped off I just don't see him signing over the Spider-Man logo again, things may have changed with age/health but that's my .02 oh and I don't think you need to be concerned as I believe Sr is just listed as John Romita on yellow labels while JRJR is listed as Jr .... I guess it would be good if both were more clearly distinguished
  4. I may have a TWD #1 3.0 that I consider priceless because it was given to me by a loved one ..... that doesn't make a TWD #1 3.0 a priceless book for insurance purposes I think you may need to review their policy as it isn't how much it is worth to you but what the overall market declares the worth to be https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/declared-value-policy/ The declared value must represent the FMV of a genuine collectible of that same issue and variety in the same approximate condition.
  5. and that is why you don't run CGC or any other business where you have people willing to give you money for your services that you would so easily decline
  6. is it though? ..... if I have a TWD issue #1 that I believe is a 3.0 am I really going to pay $75 to submit under the Standard tier which has a max value of $1000 per item instead of the Modern tier for $22 with a max value of $400?
  7. sounds so simple .... would love to see who would get to be the arbiter of that
  8. I'm no pro at this but I believe when you are asking about Max Value you are looking at the CGC Services & Fees listings since TWD issue 1 is not pre 1975 you can eliminate the Economy tier Modern has a max value per item of $400 Standard has a max value per item of $1000 Express has a max value per item of $3000 this I believe is where you have to do some legwork and determine what you think the grade of your book might be and based on the current value of that book in such grade what tier it would best fit under you can use the Hey Buddy Can You Spare A Grade section of the board to get some feedback as to what others might think your book would grade at (pictures will be key, front/back covers and interiors) https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/ and from there you can use tools like ebay completed sales (amongst others) to see where your book may be valued if you are unsure you will also be asked for declared value when you actually get to filling out the submission form - this would again be what you value the book to be at for insurance purposes in case something were to happen to the book and a claim needed to be filed ps. slabbed is the typical term used as opposed to cased
  9. actually it lends no additional weight to that theory a package can arrive at CGC showing no signs of exterior damage .... that doesn't mean the interior contents were packaged properly to prevent shifting and damage during transit or arrival at their destination
  10. surprised I'm the first to post, though considering how difficult it is to post without an error code, maybe not so surprised CGC Promotes Matt Nelson to President CGC, a division of the CCG, is pleased to announce that Matt Nelson, one of the most renowned comic book experts in the industry, has been promoted to President. CGC is the world’s leading third-party grading service for comic books, trading cards, magazines and other pop culture-related collectibles. Nelson joined CGC in 2013 when it purchased Nelson’s company, Classics Incorporated, and reorganized it as CCS. Nelson became President of CCS, which provides industry-leading comic book pressing, restoration and restoration removal services. Indeed, he is a comic book restoration innovator and authority, having introduced the revolutionary process of leaf casting to comic book restoration, and legitimizing and evolving comic book pressing throughout the early 2000s. n 2016, Nelson transitioned from CCS President to CGC Primary Grader. In this role, he has handled hundreds of thousands of comics, including the most valuable comics ever sold, such as the Action Comics #1 that sold for $3.25 million and the Batman #1 that realized $2.22 million. Nelson also has an encyclopedic knowledge of comic book history and pedigrees. Now as President of CGC, Nelson will lead the CGC team as it continues to grow in numbers and services. The expansion of CGC has been extraordinary since the company was founded in 2000. With Nelson at the helm, CGC will introduce even more exciting initiatives, while always adhering to the founding principles of accuracy, consistency and integrity.
  11. sounds like the OP may possibly be referring to a prescreen if so, see Grade PreScreen at the following https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/cgc-grading/?view=comics someone more knowledgeable with submitting may be able to help you if needed
  12. no but I felt uncomfortable putting BS on the box I sent, especially next to the "Fragile" markings
  13. we’ve narrowed it down boardies, it’s someone with a Disney + series keep him talking, soon he will break and we will drive the price of the book beyond the reach of all
  14. there may be an artist named Walk Through doing a Signature Series event
  15. wonder why this one doesn't say "1st appearance of Ravonna Renslayer" on the slab? if you pull up the cert # of this book it is listed under key comments .... would it still say that if it was only recognized as such after the 2017 grading date?
  16. unless someone’s messing with time, happy 23
  17. probably going to get a better response here >>>>
