Just FYI for Whitman lovers: I did a post about the Whitman Marvel branded 3-packs back in 2017.

These are awesome! Where are you guys getting the bagged editions these days? Online, flea market, thrift shop, LCS, antique store?
I bought most of my bags online. I’ve been searching them for 20 years. I can tell you they are a lot harder to find now. Possibly because folks open them for grading?

I Don't understand these later bagged comics. I remember buying the Whitman bagged comics in the 70`s because you could get 3 comics for cheaper than regular cover price. But these later ones give you only 2 comics and cost more than cover price. What am I missing here?
Most of the bags I’ve seen and owned only offered a penny off the cover price. I used to buy them simply because I couldn’t find comics anywhere else.

I enjoy Regie Collects, Pop fun to play, Very Gary, and Aznfunk, on YouTube. Comic Gains is a pretty cool new show too.

Marvel Super Special #16 has more Yoda pages, more Boba Fett pages, and earlier Yoda and earlier Boba Fett than both Star Wars #41 and #42, by 5 or 6 months.
It seems very few collectors know Star Wars #42 is about the 7th time those Boba Fett pages were reprinted. It's the first nothing.
The Marvel paperback was published before all of them. It had the original Yoda, drawn by Williamson before they knew what movie Yoda would look like. Then revised to movie Yoda for MSS 16, SW 41, 42, etc.

@batmiesta just posted a pic of his nice copy in the ‘Bronze Age Treasuries’ thread below.

my guess is that this is a reproduction of that poster despite it saying "vintage" in the title:
It seems like there are tons of what appear to be reproductions of marvel and other comic posters on ebay. it is so easy to grab an image and have it printed professionally nowadays for pretty cheap.
Could be, but I doubt they’d go through the trouble of printing the back (Surfer logo), and “aging” the paper.
More likely just cut out of a low grade copy, but yes, keep an eye out for reproductions - they are all over eBay.

Yeah, this is where I'm at. I'd want the correct version for my personal library, but I'd definitely want to disclose the error to any potential buyers. There are collectors of errors, but usually they're looking for "cool" errors, like the foil books that are missing the foil and therefore have a unique look, or books printed with colors missing, etc. I don't see this interest extend to collected editions so much, as most of those collectors just want the best possible reading version of a story for their library. But still, you never know, there is probably a collector out there who insists on having every known variant of this book. They must exist. Hope you fine 'em!
Thanks for the reply!
I like to collect error versions, but I also like to collect $125 for a book I paid $25 for haha.
of course I would note the error if selling the error version.

Yep, the point of collected editions is to have something readable, so keep the version that is readable (has the right pages).
on a related note, I still kick myself for selling my Plague of Frogs HCs years ago, someday I'll find replacement copies of Vol 3 and 4...
Haha I did the same thing! Couldn’t pass up $390 for number 3 and 4 - now still a giant hole on the shelf.
Thanks for your response!

Wondering what you all would do here?
I purchased the BPRD Hell on Earth #2 hardcover when it first came out. Before I received it I got an email from IST stating that there was a printing error, and I would be receiving a corrected version once they received them from Dark Horse. They said I could keep the error version. I did receive the corrected version, and have both. Now the price is over $100 for the book, so I want to sell one of them. The copies I’ve seen sold don’t mention the error.
1. Which one would you sell?
2. Do you think the error version would be worth more or less?
3. Anyone else have the error version?
Interesting note: both copies show first printing.
SPOILER: second image shows last page of one of the stories.
Upper copy is corrected version. Lower copy missing last page of story.

Paperback grading
in Ask CGC
Posted
Hi,
I’ve seen quite a few CGC graded comic paperbacks, but never the Empire Strikes Back marvel illustrated paperback.
Is there any reason why you couldn’t slab it? (I don’t believe there are any on the census).
I have a ton of other similar comic paperbacks I’d love to slab.
Thank you!
Tim
