  1. Whoa! High census! Fill me in I haven't been watching as closely. What sale, how much and more importantly congrats!!

That was my raw copy. I had it listed as a 9.0. Personally, I think CGC was tight on that book (and I think they are in a bit of a tight stretch right now over all). Rich has it in hand now. I think he'll agree it's a sharp 8.5

Book is very sharp, happy to have it! Could grade higher during a "looser" stretch in Sarasota. Love the cover: they finally decided to bring fighter jets in to compliment the small arms, pitch forks and bats of the locals!!

  2. Scans are of the exact book being sold, so please review closely for all tears, folds, missing parts, stains, etc. The book is complete inside and pages are commensurate with age, off white, and browning. I am not an expert, but from reading the grading scales this book has conditions associated with the VF 8.0 range.

doh! Maybe VF to him means "Very Fukked Up? (shrug)

  3. Hi Guys!! I've seen some great books lately from many of you, including Art, Bob, John and a few others! I haven't been doing too much buying, but I couldn't resist this one, easily in my prehero top 5:

:hi: Rich, good to see you! Excellent book, it's in my top pre-hero covers as well.

Thanks Art! Nice to have something new to post here. 4 things really stand out for me on this Kirby masterpiece: 1) The great perspective, 2) The mostly blue cover, 3) The very human face that Kirby gives Gargantus, 4) The drama and the action just exploding as only Kirby could draw. Sure, 50 years later others have picked up on his style and many others. However, in his day and many days to follow, the King delivered again and again in virtuosic action and raw power. :headbang::takeit:

The AIWW is sharp as is the STOTU.....I really like those Circle 8's....I know you like yours in a slab, but man, they look nice raw. GOD BLESS...

    Thanks Jimbo! I think I've owned a silver marvel Circle 8. It's tempting! :o

  5. Fantastic, thanks for such a varied list! (worship) Just added a few to my Amazon want list for reading after the first batch of reprints you recommended. I had always heard that PCH other than EC was greatly inferior, but I'm finding in many cases that's not true at all. Pleasant surprises and fun discoveries!! :takeit: Nothing like firsthand experience.

  6. Another recent addition:

Love seeing these books for the first time! I'm a newbie in collecting PCH and love seeing what else is out there. :cloud9:

And the best reference guide to horror books is the indispensable "Tales too Terrible to Tell" which costs $20 for the complete set:

You'll need to cut & paste the link below into your browser

Just ordered the set, thank you!! (thumbs u That was exactly what I had been looking for. I've been tempted to order some of those DVD compilations on ebay, but was unsure which ones to buy. This makes it alot easier! Will have to check out the other PCH thread as well. I love the sheer variety of titles offering PCH, obviously alot healthier time for comics with so many different publishers, styles, artists, etc,..
