waaah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Nice!! BTW, I knew I should have bid on that 8.0 copy from awhile back. Turns out to be current top census!!!
-
Picked this up at SDCC last weekend from Superworld Ted. The price was reasonable (though still well above Guide, of course) and it has nice pages.
I wonder if JIM 89 will ever breakout in Overstreet and/or be noted as a classic cover?
Its a classic to practically every JIM and/or Thor collector alive. Why Overstreet doesn't make a note is curious. Great copy, BTW!

I have really started to like these books.
Unparalleled art, epic stories, real collectibility, sense of wonder...
What's not to like? (thumbs u
So well put!!

Fascinating, thanks for all the hard work Tom!

I also chipped in a little bit of recent sale supporting data, including this beauty.
Now that I've got the book in hand I can finish thanking Korvac Saga for pointing this one out to me on eBay. As some of you may remember, I bought an 8.5 copy of this book on eBay about a year ago that I ended up having to return because it was stolen property. This one is a tick lower in grade, but I am very pleased with the copy. Rich, whenever we meet the first round is on me!
After my pickup of the #3 in the last Clink auction I'm now 40% done on the run. Only the two black covers and the pricey #1 to go!
My pleasure Art!! That book belongs with you. (thumbs u

Great books Frankie and Art!! And speaking of spending too much, just got this one:

I need to upgrade my #11 someday. Tough book to find in a decent grade.
One of the absolute toughest of books. Only 16 copies on the census which is the lowest among the first 20 TTAs. TTA #4(20 copies) and #5 (19 copies) are next fewest and those 2 are beasts as well!!

And here's his new neighbor:
Incredibly difficult issue in HG!! How sweet it is
Thanks guys, thrilled to have it!!
Interesting catch on that cover swipe. The real answer is that because of some things he did in college, that monster had a tough time getting work. Also, an old football injury prevented him from being able to fully lift that right arm, thus limiting his range of poses. Kirby with his big heart took pity on him an used him to model for the 2 covers. The King's heart was as big as his talent!!!

Thanks!! (thumbs u And I think you'll find you're amongst friends who share in your "hero fatigue".

Another tough prehero:

Here's the nice TTA #13 that Rick Starr was referring to:
Here's his next-door neighbor:

Thanks Rick Starr, a certain boardie is indeed loving that TTA #13!!
Will post it next to its new "neighbor" later!! (thumbs u

Doing the classic horror circuit. Finished Frankenstein a few months ago. Almost done with the Complete Works of H.P.Lovecraft and half way through Bram Stoker's Dracula. Nothing like the source material!!

Great books everyone!! I'll get a copy someday
