  1. still got coin left over after the Supe 1? You've been after a YA 4 for some time. (thumbs u
  2. Nice Michael. Too bad someone didn't have scratch paper handy when this was sitting around
  3. cool...post a Terry Toons #38 (thumbs u why cuz it's a Timely and a grail of my dad's
  4. the diving/head first version of 33 (thumbs u
  5. if I am going for value, I take the Bat 1. But, I'm not a big Robin fan (Joker is cool--but he was taken from stories original intended for Tec comics anyway) and I prefer the pure, Dark Knight---solo style
  6. I couldn't do that...that would be like taking a Supe 1 over an Action 7 for me... not the same
  7. I couldn't do that...that would be like taking a Supe 1 over an Action 7 for me...
  8. Tough call-Bat 1 or Tec 33. I know what Ciorac would say Bat 1 over Tec 38 FOR SURE...
  9. not sure it is undervalued...heck, it has been higher valued in the guide for 20+ years just for that reason the difference today is that books are encased in cgc holders, so the content seems to count for less, and the cover more...hence, 29 and 31 are now both passing 33 by I think 33s cover is cool...that gun holster and Bat-like wings gives a new angle to Batman at the time...actually, the wings on 33 look more like his wings on the 27 cover.....29 (2nd Bat cover, tough, and eerie cover)...31 (sick cover, great story)...33 (Origin, gun holster)...35 (smokin 45 pistol splash)...that was a great time period to witness.
  10. I am pretty sure someone said it would be around 3K for a coverless one yep, there were multiple response I believe, in that neighborhood (thumbs u In my defense, it IS the end of the marking period and my seniors are draining the brainpower out of me with all of their blasted neediness. That being the case, I find it really interest as well because a .5 PR copy of Batman runs about the same price. Now, if you remove the defining characteristic of the Tec 31's value (the cover), do you think it SHOULD be worth the same as a book the contains the first appearances of Batman's two most important villains? Tec 31 is a cover driven book 1st, and interior value 2nd. If the 31 cover was ho hum ("normal"), I'd say the 29 and 33 and 35 would be valued at more across in all grades... Really? No offense to 29, 33 (except the origin), and 35. All have great stories. But personally 31/32 has the best pre-robin story in my opinion. A two part story that ends with Batman shooting his enemies in cold blood to finish them off once and for all. the 31 story is GREAT. Better than the 33 Bat story. The 31 would not be valued as it is today (or as coveted IMO) if it did not have that castle cover.

  18. perhaps, but the "fire" vs. "water" theme matched so nicely that Timely had to do it...the battle was already brewing starting in Marvel Mystery 7 and all the way though #10.
  19. Agreed. 29 is a more dark cover and a fantastic cape. I like the cape on 33 best actually... the 33 is cool too. But his cape on 29 is still nicer, much more dark. Actually menacing. If they had introduced him as a a villain in 29 he could have passed off as one. and the gun holster on 33 is sweet.
  20. Agreed. 29 is a more dark cover and a fantastic cape. I like the cape on 33 best actually...
  21. 31 is the mona lisa of GA covers to me. That is just my personal opinion. good comparison! (thumbs u
