  1. not super hard to find IMO. having the funds---that is true.
  2. only because of the PQ, which is probably some little spine split somewhere, on an otherwise nice paged copy yah, crack it out Alex, and see if it's likely 99% cr/ow (thumbs u Or the spine may turn to dust but I'm sure it's 99% crm/ow I was thinking about doing it eventually - and re-subbing to get the new case and modern label. (Not for a higher grade - but it would be nice) I am a little scared to crack now though. I have owned very few brittle or slightly brittle books in my time but when I have the books always look darker and on the one brittle book I owned the pages where almost brown. But that is not the case on this Tec 31 - pages look at worst cream/ow but I suspect better. And like you said gator, primetime, and t3quila it may be 99% say cream/ow or better but 1% might be slightly brittle somewhere - surely could be the spine area. It is slightly darker there. might be worth the re-sub..hard to say if the grade or PQ would bump

  4. which has the bigger bite? I know the Tec 31 bites your wallet big time
  5. drugs in 1930s comics and kids were the target audience?
  6. Rob, you are quickly becoming a top Timely/Schomburg collector
  7. Congrats !! Iconic and cool Super nice copy (thumbs u It really is an awesome copy. Congrats again Roy!! Do us a favor though, do not "cut out and frame" as D.C. recommends. No, no you need to cut off the back cover! DC demands it! And then since it would be incomplete it would fall into the POOR .5 range. And then you could sell it to me for 25% of G guide! Sound good? I used to buy doubles of all #1 issues when I was growing up..had I been 10 years old in 1940 and saw a Bat 1 with a nice pin up on the BC, I would have dropped two dimes on this one
  8. Rob, have you posted a group shot of all your books? would be nice to see all your additions (thumbs u I'll try to do that tomorrow.

  10. I've always liked the cover to Tec 165 "The Strange Costumes Of Batman" nice pickup, but how about better pics without your thumb in the way i was commenting on the thumb, has it been pressed? everyone's thumb has been pressed at some point

  12. thank you guys. I talked to rick 9 months ago about this book but the timing just wasn't right at that time. I really wanted it though and i'm just glad he hadn't sold it. The next highest unrestored cgc copy is 9.4 so this is as good as it gets for me on this book. that is what I found... and, quite honestly, I was happy with the book, but as travis will tell you, we went back and forth a wee bit and I am happy that it will be enjoyed for many years (heck, even I kept it almost 3 years, just a great book!) That's like 21 years for a typical collector. I generally keep my big books for an average of 6 years it seems. Just sold a bunch of 04 books.... 05's next year? I keep mine awhile too..."oldest" GA book in my collection is my All Select 1---going on 9 years in two months
  13. 28 is the toughest to get...what is FMV on a 3.5 blue? More than $11k? the last 3.5 to sell was an ow/w pager that our own boardie campued got...so it is legit... several folks pm'd or called me and I told them 10-12K was the range this one would go for due to the unverifiability of the auction... now, I did email the seller and ask for a back cover scan, and they added that pic on the carpet, but never responded to me I then emailed a second time asking for details about the book, and never got a response... so, I just threw in a token bid... had this book of been auctioned by heritage or clink or cconnect, no doubt it would have hit 15K (thumbs u another scoop story by the Gator Press (thumbs u
