  1. I was at the show working CW's booth and I saw Harley leave in a white SUV (rental car I assume) after packing up. I suspect the thieves were scoping out the con and followed him to the restaurant (I believe that is where the incident occured). He texted me and said they took the case containing the best books (AF15 CGC 4.5, etc). . I hope he is made whole on this terrible situation.
  2. I was hoping this wasn't true. I am wondering if the thieves followed Harley after the con was over....?
  3. Let’s see your flip phone again Harold. 😂 what a nut. 😛
  4. Agreed on all accounts. Must have in the vault. It would have been cool to have Flessel's sig on the top of the stool. Love the chemistry set. Nice copy
  5. I had one claim about 6 years ago for $1000. They paid in 6 weeks. Pretty smooth process. Of course, it would probably take longer to process the higher the claim is.
  6. Yes I think Filter co-owned the book with another person. But I owned it from 2010 to 2012. The colors are one of the nicest on a low grade cap 1 around.
  7. Agreed and that is my sad point. The modern fan only knows 1961 to current regarding “marvel”. If only Subby would someday submerge from his murky film rights to Disney
  8. Looks like the Gerber Photo journal spread out on one gigantic poster
  9. Correct same timeline as Tec 35, Adventure 46, and Marvel Mystery 4 to name a few “newsstand time” Dec 1939 books.
  10. Agreed, but DC can always hype Supe as the first superhero. I would like to see more hype from Marvel regarding the 80th anniversary of Marvel Comics 1.
  11. There was a time when restored books were avoided, but elevated price points and secure third party grading help increase FMV for non blue label books. The demand for Cap 1 is always on the up as well. Bat 1s are certainly more available.
  12. a recycled name by Goodman as prior to that the early Marvel Mysterys had Electro, the red robot. And fast forward, we get yet another named Electro character, Spidey's villain.
  13. I've been collecting Timelys since 1995, and I've seen a decent amount of Cap 78s in that time. I'd say it has moderate scarcity but not ultra tough. Here is the scope of Atlas books that were cover dated Sept 1954 (May 1954 real time). I'm sure there is a matching inside BC/outside BC on one of these books. Good thing these are all relatively cheap. The Torch 38 was out one month before Cap 78, so it could very well have a matching inside BC. http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/newsstand.php?publisher=marvel&type=cover&month=9&year=1954&sort=alpha At least you aren't dealing with a late 30s/early 1940 Johnson Smith & Co (Detroit, MI) back cover ad. Those ads have different dept. #'s so although the ad looks the same, the dept # could be different and you will have the wrong BC married. Best to your hunt for the right BC.
  14. you must be bored Bunky LOL. Nice upgrade for sure. 13 and 18 are my all time Pre Bat Tec favorites.
