  1. According to MyComicShop.com, this was a Walden Books exclusive, not a newsstand edition. Is that possible?
  2. I bit the bullet and bought a copy of the Fantastic Four #10 Walmart variant cover on eBay for less than it would've cost me to buy the three-pack at Walmart when it was available. I'm not really a variant collector but this Walmart book is a strange one and I wanted a copy for my FF collection.
  3. I've never heard of an eBay sale. All I ever get are eBay Bucks promotions.
  4. I thought for sure I'd wake up and see over 3 million posts. But no! The count stands at 2,999,449.
  5. 2,999,305 plus this one. I've been wondering if someone would start a thread in anticipation of the 3,000,000th post.
  6. I didn't get an e-mail but saw a banner on eBay announcing 10% in eBay Bucks through the mobile app and 6% otherwise. Ends 11/5 at 11:59PM PT. No minimum. I think I'll be doing some Christmas shopping today. This is the first eBay Bucks promo I've gotten in months. With my luck, I'll get one for 13% next week after buying a ton of stuff today.
  7. I'll keep them but I also want to have the "regular" direct edition covers. I actually picked up a bunch today.
  8. This is a great topic. I've read a lot about lost TV shows and lost films but never anything about "lost" comic books. Didn't Jerry Siegel and/or Joe Shuster destroy a very early Superman comic book that was never published? Does that count?
  9. The only modern newsstand issues I have are Fantastic Four #554-569 from 2008-2009: I hope to replace them some day with the direct editions because I don't like the look of the newsstand covers. Here's a comparison (direct on the left, newsstand on the right):
  10. If I'm reading it correctly, the change won't affect buyers, only sellers who will now see a slightly higher PayPal processing fee that includes tax. Although buyers may see prices increase as sellers pass on the cost of doing business with PayPal.
  11. It's almost as if eBay and/or PayPal are trying to drive people away. Having to pay processing fees on tax was not made clear in the e-mails eBay and PayPal sent about the November 1st change in how tax is collected.
  12. Next time I'm at this Walmart I'll take another look but I don't remember seeing any baseball cards in the front area, either.
  13. Where are people finding these at Walmart? I was at a nearby Walmart this afternoon and looked in the toy section, the "books" section, and the checkout area. Didn't see any comic books. The store was crowded so I didn't ask any employees for help (and in the past, Walmart employees haven't been particularly helpful).
  14. I received my first offer from a seller (8% off) just the other day. It was still too expensive but now I try to watch anything I might be interested in, just in case a seller decides to send an offer. I probably won't be using the current 8% eBay Bucks promotion. I'm hoping for 10%+ next month when I have my eBay Bucks certificate to spend.
  15. Agreed. Paying sales tax for purchases on eBay is annoying, even if many buyers were supposed to be paying it anyway depending on local tax laws, but shipping is much, much worse.
  16. I bought all four of Artgerm's FF #1 variants on eBay recently. I only wanted the Invisible Woman cover but got all four for $20 plus a copy of the regular cover.
