  1. Not to mention they have on-site grading scheduled for mid March. That will probably stick a fork in all production for the better part of two weeks. My understanding is that for MegaCon they shuttle books back and forth to Sarasota, so it's not like other shows where an encapsulation machine is completely out of commission while it's being shipped to and from the show. There are two other on-site events just a few months later. Both events are 4 days long each. The second on-site event you're referring to is WW Chicago - which is 5 months later. It'd be interesting to compare the number of submissions that are finalized at an on-site show versus the number of submissions CGC would have done if they weren't doing on-site grading - my opinion is that on-site grading actually helps with the bottle neck because it's so intensely concentrated Their on-site grading events this year are... Megacon on March 15 through 17 Wizard World Philadelphia on May 30 through June 2 Wizard World Chicago on August 8 through 11 That's roughly 2 months apart on each one with the first one in March.
  2. Don't try using logic. It's a punishable offense.
  3. Fast tracks and Standards are also behind, though this chart does not show that they are.

This is what I implied. When encapsulation is the bottleneck, taking one of them out of service for a few weeks while it's shipped across country and back does nothing but compound the problem.

  7. Holy spoon, dude. I hate you a little for him. That is a heavy order. How do they ship something like that? On a pallet? Or in 12 boxes.
  8. In general, how many days does it add to a submission to do a pre-screen?
  9. However many they have, it's obviously not enough.
  10. Believe it. I was in awe. Send me your hard earned cash and I'll promptly get it to you.
  11. Actually they've gone kinda tothemarketdownthestreetforsomeCRAZY with the big cases lately. They put my Tick SE #1 in one.
  12. Baseball Stars - Create and name your own player, team, create a league, kept track of stats.... That game was way ahead of its time. That does it. This weekend the NES is getting hooked up again. I need a new 72 pin connector in mine.
  13. Is there a reason they won't buy a second one? I know there's a cost, but if pencil up in Oregon can fund one in his mom's garage, I don't see what the problem is. ESPECIALLY given the fact that they are doing THREE onsite grading events this year.
  14. I'm not sure they've been completely caught up on all tiers for further back than that. I can remember a brief moment when everything was on time. Submitting modern comics through the regular tier and having them back in your hand in a month.
  15. If you submit them today through a regular tier, there's a damn good chance that they will.
  16. Yeah. I'm amazed at the speed at which it flew through there.
  17. Really? That's your takeaway? They're not good at communicating? Ok. Never mind then. What else would it be? That CGC changes things just to *spoon* with their customers? That they're a monopoly, know it and don't care what anyone thinks? I'm sorry, but I just don't believe that. You and I will have to disagree then. Whether they care or not, they act like they don't care. But I don't need them to. On the one hand, people expect CGC to be treated with more deference and forgiveness because it's our hobby and hey, we're all in this together. On the other hand, please name me another business where the actual product has suffered so much and people just line up for more. Prices have gone up. Quality is variable. Service has gone down. Communication is terrible. The ONLY reason they continue to enjoy the success that they do is b/c of their monopoly status. eBay Please. eBay is a shadow of what it used to be. eBay is not even remotely similar to what it used to be.
  18. Hey...I remember getting three of those Big Jim Dolls Action Figures (Big Jim, Bald Dude, and Tank-Top Guy) for Christmas, but I don't recall getting any comics with them If I remember correctly, they were on a display in the store and were free promotional comics. You didn't get them in the box with the doll action figure. The same with the Evel Knievel promo comic the year before. The Big Jim comic is harder to find. I used to have mine from when I was a kid but I can't find it for the life of me.
